ABIGAIL POV:
I open my eyes and see the bright lights of the hospital. I squint, trying to figure out what the small noises are by my bed and see a nurse finishing up her wound assessment as she signs one last bandage on my abdomen. Placing my gown down, she goes to look at her chart on the computer in the room when I try to clear my dry throat. I cough lightly as the pain radiates and my body aches from head to toe. My voice will not come out and I'm not sure how badly injured I am this time. The nurse turns from her charting to face me, and a look of joy happens upon her face as she rushes to my side.
