I Am Not

Luciano "Camila, stop being a child," I told her. "I texted your mother and told her you were staying with some friends. You have an exam coming up and you need all the time you can spare to study with your study group." "Friends? Study group?" she said confused. "She won't buy it." "She replied, good luck and try to have some fun," I smirked as I read every word. "Bastard," she snapped. "Why are you keeping me here?" "Why do you think?" I questioned. "The minute I let you go, you will run off to your daddy and tell him who I am." "Of course, I will," she said boldly. "You lied to me and to my family. We, we trusted you." "Is that so," "Luciano," she said softly. A nerve ticked in my temple. I smiled softly at her. "Is this amusing to you?" "No, but it is poetic justice I think. To have you hear, saying my name yet, you are here because I kidnapped you," I explained. "Let me leave, whatever you wanted just stop, you failed," she said. "What I want," I pondered. "What I want is for him to suffer. As I did." "Him? My father," she wondered. "Why? He did nothing but love you." "Really," I said sarcastically. "Luciano, please, we can fix this," "Oh now we can fix this," I chuckled. "I have left some clothes for you to change into. Breakfast will be sent to you in twenty minutes. Go shower and change." "No," she said stubbornly. "This wasn't a request, do it or you will starve," I said sharply. I got up and left. "AH!" she hit the bedroom door again. I heard she didn't eat breakfast and she hadn't changed her clothes. I never thought she would be this stubborn. She started her banging again around lunchtime. "Camila, what is your problem?" I walked into the bedroom but she wasn't there. I heard the water running in the sink. I walked to the bathroom. She had her hand under the running water. "What the hell?" I quickly made my way to her and held her hand. She flinched with pain. "How did this?" She just looked over at the broken lamp and bedroom door. She had been banging the door and throwing things. She had been careless. I told Demetri to bring me some bandages. I wrapped her hand after I cleaned it. "Thank you," she said softly. "Stop being so stubborn, this isn't ideal or fair but it is what it is, give me time and I will let you go," I told her. She didn't say anything. "Go shower, the bandages won't come off." Her eyes went to the floor. "Oh for f***s sake," I picked her up bridal style and took her to the shower. I stood her in the middle of the shower and I turned on the water. I made it warm enough and got out. I turned around and waited for her. "Shower," I said. "Um," I knew why she was hesitant. "Shower, I am not watching you. Just do it," I said again. "Fine," she declared. I heard her undressing. She took a shower calmly. "Um, can I have a towel?" without turning around I grabbed a towel by the door and handed it to Camila "Thanks." "No problem," I said. "Now, go get dressed. I will send lunch to you in a minute." I sent her lunch and decided to go to my study. Demetri and Heitor had left. I needed them to see what the mood was like in the Hernandez home. I wouldn't be missed but the man they knew to be Luciano would be. So I sent them back. I was wondering what she was doing and how it was going with Demetri and Heitor. I had this anxiety I couldn't erase or let go of. I decide to do something I hadn't done in a while. I had decided to play the piano. This always soothed me. It made me relax and moved my concentration solely on the piece I was playing. I closed my eyes and let the music take me away. "That sounds so pretty," she said softly. How did I know she would come? "Sit," I said simply. She obeyed and sat next to me. "What are you playing?" she asked. "Chopin, ballade no.1 in G minor Op. 23," I told her. "You are remarkable," she said. "Thank you," "Do you play often?" "No," "Why? It is so beautiful and you are so good. You could play concerts or something," "That is not what I who I was raised to be," I told her. "Oh," I knew she understand what I meant. She was a part of this life as much as I was. "I guess I never had to worry so much about it because." "Because," "Because my father had you," she said. I stopped playing and put my hand over hers. "I'm sorry, I really am," "Do you want to hurt him?" "No, but someone I know might," I told her truthfully. "What happened to you?" I asked. "I was told I needed to grow older and come after your father. Take everything from him just as he had taken from me," I told her. I didn't know why I was being so truthful but I was tired of lying to everyone, especially her. "By who?" "My grandfather and my great grandfather," I told her. "Your father killed my mother and father." She dropped her head. She didn't even deny it. "I was told your mother was a bad person, so was your father," she said in a low voice. "I, I don't know if that was true but I do know my parents loved you. They wanted to keep you but didn't want to start a war." "Was I not worth starting a war?" I snapped. "If it was you, I am sure they would have moved heaven and earth to get you back." "Luciano," her voice brought me out of the darkness. "Camila," I brushed my thumbs over her cheek to her bottom lip. "You're my brother," "I am not,"
