Chapter 5Aaron held the note (Card? Invitation?) in his hands and turned it over yet again, as if there might be something on the back that he hadn’t noticed the first four times he’d flipped it. It was elaborate beyond necessity, with a gold embossed logo, filigreed edges, and a card stock that was not only thick and sharp, but somehow as soft and smooth as a petal. The only thing more elegant than the paper was the handwriting on it—perfect, flowing penmanship, with an eloquently stated message.
