Chapter 6Aaron wasn’t surprised that they went up to the penthouse after dinner. Where else would someone like Dante stay at their own hotel? He was, however, surprised by what a penthouse turned out to mean. Opulence and sophistication adorned every inch, from the rich satin furniture that sat on heavy claws and ornately carved legs, to the sumptuous carpet that swallowed his toes and cushioned his steps. Large plate glass windows ran from floor to ceiling, wall to wall, and offered an amazing view of the city. Beyond the windows was a balcony as big as the room itself, with well-placed lighting, luxurious patio furniture, and billowing curtains.
