Chapter 2: Parent's Approval

748 Words
~Nora Valentine~ I heard a loud squeal when I arrived at the airport. Sure enough, it was Ruth. It can't be helped, that girl can get excited over almost everything. She skipped her way through the crowd and into my unwelcoming closed arms. I was being hugged, forcefully. "It's enough. Let go of me--you stink real bad, Ruth." She gasped as she pulled away and feigned pain clutching the fabric above her boobs, "I do not." "Yes, you do. That's why I told you to calm your nerves and sleep, yesterday." Val sighed tiredly, "I wanted us to at least have a cold shower before we left for the airport." "Oh, I get it!" I acted surprised, "That's why you two look like zombies and smell like dumpsters. You've been up all night." "Daddy," Ruth wailed running into the arms of an older man. "Nora's being a big meanie." Ruth's father Ryan Williams laughed heartily, "I'm gonna miss you girls so much." he said tearing up a little. Ryan Williams is a very influential and powerful business man. His personality varies from person to person. He loves the thrill of a drama and--can be a little sentimental at times. "Daddy, stop." Ruth whined as her eyes glossed with some of her unshed tears. "You know, it's just a month long trip. You'll be just fine without me. I'll-I'll be fine too, don't you worry." Yeah, worry about us instead--for leaving us with a crazy psychopath like her in a foreign country. From what I've observed so far, is that drama runs deep in their little family of four. You can tell by just watching them, 'both father and daughter are a cut from the same cloth'. Ignoring Ruth, Ryan looked over at me and Valerie with a trusting gaze. He took one of our hands in his larger ones and said, "I'll trust you both to take good care of my little princess, please keep her safe, happy, and out of trouble." What is this? Why does it feel like he's approving of us for his daughter's hand in marriage. "Daddy! Stop embarassing me." ~ Somewhere during the flight, Ruth told us (more like gossiped) that her parents were planning a getaway vacation for a quiet while now, and that his older brother Erza would be out with his friends for a while. So, somewhere between their plans--they thought it would be a good idea sending Ruth off to her cousin's beach penthouse in LA than leaving her all alone. Basically, the truth was--that they wanted some time off, but couldn't trust their daughter to stay alone all by herself. When they realised that she's way more clumsy and irresponsible even for her cousin in LA to keep her in check, they cleverly pushed Valerie and me into this sinking plan of theirs. The only thing I've learnt after being acquainted with the 'great' Ruth Williams is that, 'Where ever she goes, the trouble follows'. That girl is beyond our saving. She's invites trouble like it's a f*****g house warming party. Trust me. **** ~Aaron Stone~ Bittersweet. It was the only word that could describe my life. It's been 6 years since I've been officially appointed as the Alpha of the strongest pack in the world. The most feared and admired pack. I'm Aaron Stone, Alpha of the 'Stone Heart Pack'. Unlike the name--we aren't made of stoned hearts. I'm not saying we aren't ruthless or forgiving. Our packs just handle things in their own way, but under the werewolf laws (yep, we definitely have those); otherwise we won't be at the top of the ladder, would we? "Alpha, the preparations have been made." Zane, my Beta informed (he's also my best friend). "Good, cause I can't wait." Zane quickly hurried away from the office after our non-existent chat. He had a date with his mate, and couldn't rix being late. Skylar, he's mate is also my younger sister. So, believe me when I say she's a little monster. That rhymed, didn't it? Ironically, even though I'm the Alpha--at the age of 23, I still haven't found my one and only. My mate. One of the reasons my wolf's been very anxious and moody, lately. He's constantly pissed, and grunts whenever I tried linking him. I just hope that we find her soon. I don't know, how long I could handle this hell, all by myself. It's almost like I don't have a purpose or motivation in life.
