HOURS LATER, VAL WAS awoken with a startle. A feeling persisted, something vague and hard to place, that something was indeed very wrong. Part of her mind tried to rationalize the fears, desiring her to go back to bed and curl back up with Henrik...however the disturbing feeling persisted. Val got up, quickly dressed and went to the front door of the cabin. She opened a peephole and saw the oranges of a nearly set sun. She slowly opened the door, greeted by the dark shadows of dusk. She went outside, she could feel somehow, deep down there was something wrong and she could not rest until she figured out what it was.
