The Cunci basked serenely in the late afternoon sun, unfazed by the group of police officers that guarded her from the dock and from the deck of an adjacent boat. The officers waited while two Port Police boats quietly slipped up to her starboard side. “Come out on deck with your hands raised,” an officer bellowed through speakers on the police boat. Mulrooney and Clarke silently crouched behind the gear boxes on the dock, their weapons reflecting the sun onto the hull of the boat. After several failed attempts by the Port Police to illicit a response, Mulrooney rolled to the edge of the dock near the port side of the Cunci as Clarke moved in behind him. They crawled along the dock, cautiously peering into the cabin windows. Back-up covered them as law enforcement moved in from all sides
