How ironic, isn't it.
I have had a big fondness for flowers since I was a child. I love wearing floral clothes, I paint and draw them and my artist name comes from a variety of flowers, but I felt a bit of sadness whenever it is given to me as a present. Call me unromantic if you must, but I hate receiving gifts. It's not my love language, to be honest. Lol
I'm just contented to look at the flowers that are still part of a living plant and they aren’t cut. It gives me so much healing and instant bliss rather than any superficial gifts. I enjoyed going to parks or botanical gardens on my own and simply adores them instead of buying and watch them slowly wilt and die. And I have a secret, sometimes I talk to them as if we're very close. I called them babies. Weirdo! Hahaha.
Flowers are one of the most beautiful accolades that Mother Nature has given to. For me, they are the physical embodiment of love and happiness. So if I pick them up from their roots, I'm not just picking a flower, I take a life. And in that part, that's what makes me feel sad. I don't say that picking, purchasing, and making them as a present for anyone is a sin. We have our discernment in this world, we always have a choice for what we want and what we don't want.
If that's yours, this is mine.
I guess what I'm saying is that we should learn to appreciate someone's life. Let's not just consider them as a form of gifts. Any living things or creatures that we co-exist in this world are important. They are created not just for us but for the little butterflies and bees. They can feed insects and birds. They provide medicine to humans and animals. Their presence itself changes the surroundings completely. They provide positive energy while shooting fauna and flora in the wild. They are as important as our lives.
Not because they can't talk or react it doesn't mean they don't feel anything. Not because we are humans, we are more worthy than them.
Be grateful, respect, and value them as wonderful living things.
As part of you.
As part of me.
As part of us.
