Can’t come home
David was sitting in his office when he heard a knock on the door and waited to see who it was because David’s secretary always comes in without knocking, so who is it? David:come in. As the door opened, David saw who it was, and it had to be the person David hated in the whole world. Mandy was so annoying to have around even if she was his sister. Mandy:Are you working through the holidays again? You know grandpa wants to see you, but you won’t come home. David had always worked over the holidays to stay away from his family, but David’s grandpa wanted him to get married, but David was always too busy to date anyone. David:No Mandy, I’m not coming home for Christmas. " I have work to do, so go home to your family and tell them I said hi. Mandy:You know you could come over and say it to them yourself, but I guess you are too busy for that, so see you next year. David knows Mandy just wants the family to be together for Christmas, but it just wouldn’t happen even if he did get married. David:Mrs. Johnson, can you come to my office please. Sandra was sitting at her desk when Sandra saw Mandy Toronto walk out of Mr. Tatura's office and that only meant one thing: that they got in a fight about Christmas again. Every year this happens. David:Mrs. Johnson, can you come to my office please. Sandra: I’ll be right there, Mr. Tatura. As soon as Sandra got up, her phone started to ring and, of course, it was Sandra’s mother, who she hated and why she called to ask if Sandra was coming home is beyond me. Sandra:Mom, I can’t talk right now. Could I call you later? Please, I’m right outside my boss's door. Easter:I just want to know if you are coming home this year for Christmas or not. Sandra:Mom, I can’t talk right now and can you not ask me that every year please, and no, I’m not coming home for Christmas. I have so much work to do, so I will see you next year. And just like that, Sandra's mom hung up the phone after yelling at her and telling Sandra that she was disappointed with the fact that Sandra wouldn’t be home for Christmas. David:Mrs. Johnson, are you listening to what I’m saying or are your thoughts more important than that? Sandra” I’m sorry Mr.Tatura. I’m just a bit frustrated with my family today. Sandra came in without knocking like normal and was having an argument on the phone with her mother about being home for Christmas, which happens this time of year. David:We are in the same position, I guess, too, because my family wants me to be home too, but I’m way too busy. Sandra:I guess, but mine is probably way different from yours, so I wouldn’t say it’s the same, Mr. Tatura. When Sandra said that, it looked like it was a painful memory to think of, so maybe it isn’t the same as David’s. Who knows? David:try me and see if it’s not the same. When David said that, it looked like all the wheels were turning in Sandra’s head, like she was deciding whether to take David’s challenge or not. Sandra:Well, if you are going to challenge me, then I have one for you. When Sandra said that, David was surprised that she would dare try to challenge him. David:Okay, what is the challenge? When David asked that, Sandra looked at him like she was scared of what it was.
