Helping Sandra

1274 Words
As soon as Anne was done talking to them, she got on the phone and called the hospital and told them what had happened and to send some paramedics over to us. Anne:David, we have doctors and paramedics coming to help you keep Sandra alive until we get you out of there. David: OK mom, I will let Mandy know and tell Sandra that she will be okay. After that, the walkie-talkie was silent, and Anne really didn’t like the fact that they weren’t keeping it on at all times. When David was done talking to his mom, he walked over to a fever-high Sandra and a worried Mandy. Sandra was bleeding more, so they had to try to keep Sandra from continuing to bleed. David:How is she doing? Are there any changes? When David asked that question, Mandy looked at him and realized he was right next to her and Sandra and was talking to her. Mandy: No, there isn’t any change. Sandra still has a high fever and is still bleeding. We need help fast. If we don’t get it, she won’t make it. When she said Sandra would not make it if we didn’t get help fast, David felt like he would pass out, but David knew that he had to stay strong for Sandra and Mandy. David:Mom just told me that help is coming, and it will be here as fast as possible. When David said that help would be here soon, she was so relieved that she would be getting proper assistance from professionals, but the question was how they were going to get down here. Mandy:How are they going to get down here for us to help? What if the building goes down more than it already is? David: I’m sure they will figure something out, so don’t worry about that, let’s stop this bleeding. David walked over to Sandra and let Mandy have the walkie-talkie and started to change her temporary bandage. David:Sandra, I know you can’t talk but help is coming. Don’t worry, you will be fine. Just hang in there please. Snadra could hear someone talking to her, but she couldn’t seem to open her eyes and say something back to them. David: Don’t worry, Sandra's help is here, and we should be out soon. Don’t worry. When Sandra heard about help and being out of a collapsed building, she was so happy she could cry, and Sandra wouldn’t have to be stuck with a pipe in her gut. Paramedic: Sir, please move out of the way so we can get her taken care of, and we won’t take care of her now. A little while later, after Anne was done talking with David, the abundance and the doctor arrived. She was so happy to see them, so Anne walked over and spoke to them. Paramedic: Mama, will you please show us where the person is. Anne: Uh about that. There is one small problem with getting to her. She is stuck in the building with two other people. When Anne said that he looked very frustrated about the fact that she was in a collapsed building, he was able to get in contact with them. Anne:There is a way to get into the building, and we have had conversations with them through the walkie-talkie. There you want, I can let them know you are here. With that, he walked over to the building and sat his stuff down and found the hole and went in, which was surprising. Anne:Mandy, David, if you can hear me on the walkie-talkie, a paramedic is coming down to you to see what is going on. Mandy: He’s already down here. He says he needs his bag. Could you send it down please? Anne:Sure Trevor. Send the medical bag down to them and see how much progress is left before they can get through. When Miles got on the scene, he saw a woman coming right up to him, and Miles asked where the person was, so he went down and there were three people, one holding something and two other people. It looked like he was trying to stop the bleeding, but Miles couldn’t be sure. Miles: Sir, please move, so I can look at the wound and see how bad it is and take care of it please. When Miles asked him to, he moved, but Miles knew the question that he was going to ask. Which is a classic to be asked. David: You need anything or help with anything? Miles: Yes, I need my bag and can you keep talking to her, because it seems she likes your voice. Just tell her what’s going on. After that, his sister, I’m guessing, asked the lady outside to put my bag down and the lady was yelling at people. Miles:Can you please turn that down and wait at the bottom of the structure for the bag? Mandy: OK, I’ll be right back. Just keep her alive please. David:Mandy, go get the bag and don’t worry about it right now. Miles:Thank you for getting her to go. I was afraid it would take a while to get her to go. After Mandy left, he thanked David for getting her to go get it, and he focused his attention back on Sandra. Miles: You have got a strong one here. She looks like she is fighting hard and, from what I have seen in my time as being a paramedic, people are normally dead, but she seems to want to fight. David:Yeah, she is a fighter, alright. But I can’t let her die. You know the funny thing is that when she showed up for the secretary job she wasn’t scared of me. Sandra spoke her mind and kept me in line, which is hard for people to do. Miles:I can tell that you seem like you care for her, so why don’t you tell her? David was surprised that he knew his little secret. There was one other reason David didn’t go home and that was because of Sandra. David: Well, who knew that a paramedic would be very observant, and I didn’t catch your name? By the way. Miles: My name is Miles and I have to be at my job, but my other coworkers don’t think it’s a good trait to have. When David was about to say something, she had to come back and interrupt our conversation. Why did she have to come down? Mandy went to get the bag and, as she was walking away, Mandy heard them talking about something, but she didn’t know what and there was the bag. Then, on the way back to them, once she got there, they stopped talking. Mandy: I’m back with the bag. How is she doing? Miles:Thank you for my bag and the bleeding has stopped, but I need to get her on something to lag her flat on. When he said that, Mandy looked around and found the perfect thing for her. It was an intact piece of flooring the perfect size. Mandy:Will this work for laying her on? David:Give it to me Mandy, so I can help him, and you talk to Sandra about something OK. Many walked over to an unconscious Sandra and sat down and hoped she could hear her. Mandy:You know, my brother has never been more scared of losing somebody than he is of losing you. And I talked to your mom to try to get her to come here, but she didn’t believe me that you were in trouble. I’m sorry about all you had to go through.
