*Olivia’s POV
Three years later
This s**t has been going on for almost three years now. Every few weeks, they take me back to the Alpha’s office and he asks the same question about the healer Wolf, and because I don’t say anything, they did lock me up in the dungeons for a week, usually. There are some times when he’s in such a bad mood that he leaves me there for two weeks.
Alan was still in the cell next to mine and we talked a lot. He was my only friend here and he taught me a lot about medicine and healing people. I hadn’t told me my secret, but I completely trusted him, it’s just that I didn’t know if I was ready.
My birthday is coming in two days. I was super excited about meeting my wolf and starting practicing my powers. I realized I had to tell Alan my secret. In order to practice, I’d need someone with me.
I've changed a lot in these three years. I don’t usually look at myself much in the mirror. I try to avoid it. My hair had gone a little longer than usual, it went down to my breast, but my signature brown color with blonde highlights is still there. Marissa always complements my eyes, she says they’re deep and cute. My body has developed more curves, even though I don’t get enough food.
I was cleaning the common area in the pack house when the two regular guys came up to me and told me to follow them to the office. It was usual, so now I’d go without fighting. After the first time, I’d put resistance and they’d hit me and take me upstairs. I stooped in front of the Alpha’s office and just waited until they opened it. This time he was with his son, Craig. He turned 18 a year ago and was learning how to be an Alpha before his dad passed the title. I’m not sure he could be an Alpha, he was mean and did not know anything about running something different than his f*cking d*ck. He was such an asshole, he had this disgusting trend, where he went up to the omegas room and just stood naked in front of us. At first, I thought I hated Alpha Cameron more than anything in the world, but then I met Craig and I changed my mind.
“Well, there you are, Olivia, I really hope you have time to make up your stupid mind and tell me what I need” said the Alpha. He was trying hard to scare me, but after three years of this bullsh*t I wasn’t anymore.
“C’mon, darling, give us the information, its killing me that you have to starve and you are not able to develop your gorgeous body”. Craig said, scanning me from head to toe. I almost threw up at his words.
I stood there in silence, I knew that not saying anything pissed them up, but I kind of started to grow a liking for them being angry and not being able to get the information.
“Olivia, be responsible for yourself. You know that being in that dirty cell is boring. If you tell us we’ll give you a high-ranked position” he said, like being a high-ranked member of this awful pack would be, any appealing. This guy was dreaming.
“I already told you you should kill them. I don’t know what else you want me to say! You just make me come up here and go through all this stuff for something based on rumors, you’re not even sure if we had healer wolves”, I said back. They were getting on my nerves. I couldn’t stand it anymore.
Craig came up to me and grabbed my chin, “you little bastard, when are you going to respect your superiors?” He said while making me have eye contact with him.
“First of all, you’re not my superior, you’re just the murderers who killed my pack. Second of all, as I have already said a thousand times in the past three years, I DON’T F*CKING KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HEALER WOLVES”, I shouted. Over the years, I have become more and more aggressive with them. I was mentally exhausted, and not only that, they had torn me apart, every single piece of self-love I had was now gone. They had made sure I was told every single day how low I was, little they knew my real rank and my powers.
Craig slapped me and laughed, he was a true psychopath. I knew what was coming next, dungeons. But instead, Alpha Cameron walked up to me, and whispered in my ear “I know you know darling, and I swear I'll torture you until you tell me”. I knew he was good at torturing and that he’d make my life a living hell. Being said that, he ordered the two men to take me to the dungeons for two weeks.
I was taken down to the dungeons and they put me in my regular cell. They, like always, were there and laughed at me. After a few minutes, I called Alan.
“Alan, are you awake?” I asked, waiting for his response.
“Hi there, Oli, how was today? They still asked you the same? He said, laughing.
“You know, they think I’ll say anything, I don’t know if they’re bad or just plain stupid” I replied with a small smile.
“Oli, tomorrow is your birthday, are you excited about meeting your wolf?” He was super nice, remembering my birthday.
“Yes, I think it’d be nice to have someone to talk to, well, besides you,” I laughed. He was my best friend, and he helped me a lot. I knew this was the moment. “Alan, I have to confess something to you, please promise me you’ll never tell a soul”, I pleaded.
“ Of course, Oli, you can trust me with your life” he said to me. I knew it was real, we have been friends for the past three years and he always gets up when I’m down.
“Well, you see, Al, you know we’ve been talking about healer wolves and all that stuff” I said. I was really nervous, “I’m one of them”. I just squeezed the words out of my mouth, it’ll be easier that way.
He was quiet for a minute or so. I broke him down. Fantastic.
“So, you’re the reason they killed your entire pack?” He asked, shocked at my confession.
“You’ll see, my mom was one too. When they got into our pack, they searched my house. Before they could get inside, my parents asked them to run away from there, so they wouldn’t know I was related to them. I ran to the pack. house and I hid there until they found me”, I said. Tears were forming in my eyes, I haven’t told the story to anyone. “When I turned 15, my parents told me that my powers would start popping a bit and they gave me a bracelet. I use it on my ankle so no one would see it, that bracelet helps me stopping my powers”. I showed him the bracelet and hid it again.
“Oh, Oli, I’m so sorry you had to go through all that, because of the bad intentions of this pack” he smiled at me. It brought a little calm to my soul.
We talked about my powers and my training. He had a lot of knowledge about it and he was willing to hurt himself so I could practice. That was nice of him, not that I would let him do that.
“So, Oli, how do you feel about your birthday coming? Do you think you’ll find your mate here?” He asked me with a bit of laughter.
“I pray the Moon Goddess not to be mated to someone here.” I laughed, it was real, I didn’t want to be tied to this pack. I knew not all people here were bad, but it was just a sad reminder to me. “I think I’m more excited about meeting my wolf than to meet my mate, that’s if I ever meet him”. It was true, I wanted to meet my wolf right away.
After a few hours of talking about our plans to escape and everything about my training, I ended up falling asleep. I don’t usually sleep well on this mattress but tonight I felt nice for the first time in a while. Having Alan by my side was nice, he cared about me.
The next day passed by, like the longest day of my life. Marissa knew my birthday was tomorrow so she sneaked some food for Alan and me, so we could have something to celebrate on. She was really nice too.
At night, Al and I talked about medicine. I’d grown a big fan of medicine. I wish I could be a doctor someday. He started telling me a story about his childhood and I slowly fell asleep.
I woke up around one in the morning, when I heard a voice coming from my mind.
“Hello there” a voice emerged from inside my head, and a shot of happiness went through my body.
“Hi, my name is Olivia,” I said, so excited.
“Haha, sweety, I already know your name. I’m Valkiria, your wolf. I’ve seen a few of your memories. I’m sorry about what happened to your parents, but believe me, lovely, we’ll get out of here, together” she said, comforting me so much.
“Thank you, Valki, I’m so happy to have you!” I said to her and went to sleep again, with a great feeling of not being alone anymore.
*Max’s POV
It’s been three years, three f*cking years, and I couldn’t find her. I searched all the packs, we searched in the forest near her pack, and everything. But not a single clue about her. It was driving me crazy, and Apolo was crazy too. We’d been looking for her for so long.
“Hey Max, you OK?” Nick asked. We were going through some papers about the companies and I was just out.
“Yes, you know, I’m thinking about her again, I’m just so lost without her and I haven’t even met her” I confessed. I needed to take it out, it was killing me.
“I know man, it must be killing you, but I’m sure we will find her, sooner or later” he tried to confirm me, not that it was helpful. “Just try to think straight, you know, it’ll be super unfair if you bring her to a pack full of problems” he had a point, a fair point. “Let’s try and focus on this papers, and after we will look again over her” he said smiling.
“Right, that’s true, you know I’m really happy for you and Lili, I think you two just complement each other” I said sincerely. I’d been so in my mind that I didn’t congratulate my Beta when he found his mate.
“Thank you, Max, she’s incredible. I’m sure your mate will get along with her!” He said, encouraging me. I was super grateful to him.
After an hour or so, an omega brought us an envelope.
“Thank you, Stacy, who brought it?” Nick asked, taking the envelope.
“It was a mail from the Elders, but I don’t know what it is” she answered, and then left us.
Nick took it to the desk and I started opening it. I knew what it was the moment Stacy said it was from the Elders's mail, the annual reunion of packs of the country. I hated attending to that, but I guess it is my duty. At least Nick would come with me.
“Well, at least we will have a bit of fun,” my Gamma Alex said, entering the room. He was the youngest one, still unmated and he was kind of a party animal.
“Relax there, party animal, you don’t even know if you’re going. Remember what happened last time we went to a party?” I said, the last time we went to a party or event like that, Alex lost it. He drank way too much and danced on the tables, tried to kiss the daughter of another Alpha, it was awful, so embarrassing, so we kind of punished him by not letting him go to any more parties. But, that was a year and a half ago. I was thinking maybe he could have changed, he had grown up so much and he had changed, even if he still liked to party.
After going through more business with Nick and Alex, I went to my appointment for my weekly tattoo. You see, I was making a point each week that I didn’t find my mate. I had 152 points in the middle of my back, just where my column is.
