Chapter Four

Aiden’s POV

I was in my car, I had an important call I needed to pick and I didn't want anyone listening to me because it was concerning the rogues.

I sighted a lady running past my car and my wolf, Razor, was screaming for me to follow her. I had to end the call and follow her immediately.

She was barefooted and I'm sure her feet would be injured due to the sharp debris in the forest. She's really running like a mad woman. I think Clara and her entire family have some kind of mental issues. Clara's always clinging to my arms like a puppy to bone and here's this other lady running like a mad woman.

I saw her running towards the cliff.

"She's definitely mad" I murmured to myself and ran faster to catch up with her. I saw her jumping but I was able to hold on to her hand at the last moment and pulled her from the cliff.

"Do you want to kill yourself" I screamed. The sparks I felt as my hand grabbed her were so strong, I couldn't breathe for a moment. I felt like someone poured freezing water on me, I felt drenched even though rain wasn't falling. The electricity moved all the way from my head to the sole of my feet. I was forced to hold her more tightly because it felt like a band was entwining us together.

This mate bond is an amazing feeling, one I didn't want to feel because I wasn't interested in having a mate. Razor was jumping in my head, he was already mesmerized by her.

"Mate!! What's your name and why do you want to kill yourself." I said

"I'm Roselyn and you are?"

"Aiden…" I said

"Aiden… then you must be Clara's fiancé, you are the reason I woke up so early to cook and do almost all the house chores" She muttered.

"Why did you stop me from jumping?" she said like a lunatic.

"Young lady, I'm sure you know I'm your mate," I said.

"Well you are also my sister's fiancé. I don't know why the Moon Goddess gives me an unfaithful mate. First one was Ethan and now you". She screamed with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I don't know why my life is so bad, I'm treated badly by my mom, my step-sister, my stepfather, my former mate, and even his girlfriend." Roselyn just kept ranting.

"When will the universe put a smile on my face." she said.

The only reason why I wanted to marry Clara was because I needed an heir urgently, but with my mate here, I do not need Clara anymore because mates have a higher chance of giving birth and I really needed to secure my father's throne as soon as possible. I can't afford any delay.

"I would cancel the engagement with Clara if you would marry me and give me an heir. It's going to be a contract marriage because I do not love you and I can't picture myself in love with you. But once you get pregnant, you will be paid handsomely. Enough money that you wouldn't have to lift a finger again in your life." I said

"But on one condition, you give birth to my heir and after six months, you disappear. No one must know where you are, I will provide all the necessary documents needed for you to travel somewhere far away." I said, I assumed she would accept since she said her life has been hell living in this pack.

"No I can’t Marry you, you are Clara's husband" Roselyn said.

"I haven't married her yet, and you would be profiting from this contract" I said.

"You are her fiancé and my mistress will have my head, so Noo!!" Roselyn screamed and ran towards her house.

I definitely can't marry Clara now. I need to find a medium for convincing Roselyn to marry me and give me an heir as soon as possible.

My phone was ringing, I removed it from my pocket to see Clara's name showing up.

"Clara, I had to do something real quick, you will see me at the party soon," I said and ended the call and ran as fast as I could to the party. I got to the party and Clara immediately hugged me.

I saw the whole setting and it was a very big party, breaking this news is going to be a mess and so embarrassing for Clara

I looked at my Beta and Gamma who were so invested in the meals, it must be quite delicious. The only thing is nobody will be expecting this bomb I'm going to drop right now in this place.

"Baby where have you been since, we have all been waiting for you," Clara said

Before I could even say anything Clara had already ushered me to my seat.

"So Alpha Aiden, when do you plan to invite us to your palace?" Penelope said.

Penelope is the definition of a material girl, it was easy to identify her as a gold digger. She wasn't even hiding it. I do not even see the reason why Blake would marry her.

"Oh you are welcome to come anytime, you only have to inform me before coming." I said

I was looking for a way to break the news to Clara but she wasn't even listening to me, she was busy discussing how she was going to change her wardrobe when she becomes my Luna. I moved closer to her and whispered to her ears.

"Clara I'm very sorry but this engagement party cannot hold anymore. We have to call it off" I whispered to her ears

"What…. you must be joking!" She screeched

She was already screaming and everyone's attention was directed toward us. It's kinda messy now.

"Everyone the engagement is over and I would like to take my leave now, I'm so sorry for the change" I said, the glass cup in Penelope's shattered immediately after my announcement.

I stood up to leave the party. My beta and gamma followed me immediately.

"Alpha Aiden, one minute before you leave," Alpha Blake said

Has my daughter offended you in any way?" Alpha Blake said.

"No, Clara did nothing to me but I cannot marry her because something came up, and I will reward her for it." I said.

"Don't you insult me Aiden." Clara screamed.

"It wasn't an insult Clara, you know I'm paying you to be my fiancée and I was going to pay you higher to be my wife." I said.

"Tell your family, we had a CONTRACT!" I shouted.
