Coin Toss: Stories During The Shows

Mysteria is an idea, a writing prompt, if you will. Standing flat-footed at Amazonian heights, their broad figure allows them to tower over a cowering audience member. Be careful to not present yourself as threat to the other performers. Mysteria will protect their family at any and all costs. If they get to drain you dry doing so, that's just a bonus then. Their face is pale, barely any color save the deep shadows of their face and facial stubble. A trimmed layer of the richest black stylishly covers along their lower jaw and down to their adam's apple. The hair curves upwards above their lip, tickling any who are within kissing distance. Mysteria has three main expressions that the audience and general public sees; 1) the confident smirk while flirting during a number, 2) the ecstatic grin during posed photos with other show performers, and 3) the blank look of distaste aimed at creeps amd weirdos that make the mistake of outing their true reasons of attending the shows. Behind stage doors, once the makeup is off and the costume is disgarded, Mysteria's family knows them as Jaye. Jaye is laid back, calm in nature, and slightly less intimidating. Gone are the heeled boots that assist with height, and the makeup for the facial hair and adams apple are wiped off. The gendered clothing is replaced with a comfortable tshirt, hoodie, and possible sweatpants. Where Mysteria is the visual representation of the extremes of gender, Jaye is androgynous. One cannot exist without the other, two sides of the same coin.
