It took us most of a week to travel up to the castle ruin. We had enough supplies not to have to trade along the way, so we traveled around all kinds of habitation, human as well as wolf. It provided extra travel time, but we wanted to avoid confrontations of any kind.
It had been my biggest concern having to travel with my entire pack. There would be many children who would not be able to defend themselves, so the extra travel time was worth it.
The last night before we would arrive at the castle, we rested and camped in a forest, on the border of our next nearest neighbors. I remember our encounter with their Alpha and I was not uneasy about camping so close to them.
