Angel POV
"Take care of yourself now!" Maria hugged me once more and I was amazed at how much strength she possessed, I doubted I could move without her getting a few of my ribs broken, they felt pressed as she had that hold on me. I kissed her cheek, wet with tears, just like my own. It was hard to say goodbye.
Maria reluctantly let go of me and I crawled up on the cart next to Pete.
It was time!
Pete waved to the carts behind us and then gave a slap with the reins and the oxen began to pull off with our cart. Immediately the rest of the carts followed behind us. I waved to Maria and Max, who both stood waving goodbye to us and their former pack members. I kept looking back until I could not see them anymore.
