Chapter Nine

Haylee’s Pov

I was finally ready after four hours of hair pulling and putting on make-up, I looked into the head-to-toe mirror that the brought in and I couldn’t stop staring I didn’t look like myself. My hair was in an updo with little pieces dangling on the sides, I was a ball gown the touched the floor, it was a dark blue that had sparkles on it, is shined in the light. I was in four-inch heels I almost fell a couple of times. I didn’t recognize myself; I was beautiful.

“Are you ready luna?” one of the omage’s asked

I turned and faced her before nodding. These nerves were killing my stomach, it was in knot’s, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I started to walk out of the room. I made it to the stairs and sent a prayer up to the goddess “please don’t let me fall please” I started to walk down and all I could hear was the load music and people talking and laughing. I finally looked down and saw Jason he was so handsome standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me. I stopped mid step when my stepsister ran and throw herself into his arms. Shooting pain in my stomach caused me to stop breath when she kissed him.

“Nooooooo mate is being unfaithful” Harley screamed in my head

The next thing I hear is a load growl and Jason’s voice ringing out “Don’t ever do that again, I have found my mate, and it isn’t you” he smiled and looked up at me.

My stepsister looked up and shrieked “Her, you have got to be kidding me. I am so much better, faster, more beautiful everything she isn’t. you can’t seriously chose her over me.”

Jason growled “Well I did and I am, and you are right she is everything you aren’t have a great time at the party.”

With that he walked up the few steps that separated us and whispered in my ear “I’m so sorry I didn’t know she was going to do that, I’m sorry you had to feel that.”

“I know I saw It’s okay” I replied with a smile while I gave him my hand to help me down the stairs.

We finally made it to the party and people were staring at us and whispering, it was so loud I couldn’t make out what they were saying but by the looks on their faces it didn’t look good. We walked around for a while until the alpha walked onto a makeshift stage to get everyone's attention.

“Thank you everyone for coming tonight, I hope many of you have found your mate or a chosen one. Tonight, I would like to celebrate not only you all finding your mates but also give a huge congratulations to my son for finding his luna. Jason, please come up here.” The alpha spoke and it made the nerves fire up again.

Jason started to walk to the stage; he looked back to see me still standing there. He reached for my hand and started to pull me with him.

“Thank you, father. I would like all of you to meet my mate and luna Haylee Johnson. Her and I will do everything in our power to make my father and mother proud and serve all of you to the best of our ability.” The blush on my face spread as Jason spoke.

After everyone clapped we got down from the stage, as we made our way people stopped us to congratulate us.

“I’m going to go outside for a little while I need some fresh air.” I told Jason as I kiss him on the cheek.

I walked out the back door into the garden, they have a huge angle oak in the middle of the back yard. One of the branches is so long it lays on the ground and makes for the perfect seat. I walked over and sat down looking up to the sky. The stars were so big and beautiful, but you could almost not see them due to the light shining off the full moon. I hear a twig snap behind me and spun around to see who was there.

“What are you doing out here?” I asked Daisy.

She has a wicked smile on her face. “Well sister I am here for you. You know you should have died with that pathetic excuse of a mother you had, you shouldn’t be here.” she walked closer

I growled “You need to leave now; I will not listen to this. she was my mother, and you have no right to talk about her like that you didn’t even know her.”

“Oh sweet innocent sister I did know her, and so you want to know the best part I know who had her killed, it won’t be that hard to have you follow her.” She spoke while spinning a piece of hair around her finger.

I started to walk away I wasn’t going to keep listening to this, she isn’t worth my time. but before I could get far she snatched my hand pulling me back “where do you think you are going?” she yelled at me.

“Away from you and this sh*t you are throwing out that trap of yours.” I snatched my arm out of her grip.

She twisted my arm behind my back and whispered in my ear “No you will leave when I tell you you can. You will reject Jason and let me have him and if you don’t I will kill you.”

I laughed “You can try and kill me but Jason would never let that happen, as for me leaving him that isn’t going to happen.”

I twisted out of her grip and threw her over me and she landed with a loud thud. “You will pay for that.” she yelled as she stood up.

As she ran towards me, I ducked under her and grabbed her leg and flipped her over again. She shot back up. Her hands turned into claws, and I knew she was mad. she thought I was weak, and I would let her hurt me. All of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in my neck and reached up and pulled out a dart. My vision started getting blurring and I started to fall to the ground.

“I told you it would be easy to have you killed. Take her and do whatever you want with her, just make sure she is dead when you are done.” Daisy said to whoever before the darkness took over.
