And What Is This?

Wyatt     I can't believe that thought just crossed my mind!  What is wrong with you man? Get a grip!      I try to shake myself and those thoughts of me NEEDING HER, but it's as if something has a much greater hold on me than I do on myself. As soon as I push the thoughts of her out of my mind, another one comes on in it's place. Sitting here on this barstool, staring at her through this mirror with my sunglasses on, I feel like a total creeper.      She looks around, scoping the place out.  Goodness this young woman is SO beautiful.      Stop it, man! But I can't... Even though she is looking right at me, my eyes can't seem to leave her. Watching her lower the hood off of her head and letting it fall down against her back, wet tendrils of her hair fall and cascade down her shoulders and about waist high. Beautiful, long and dark soft waves frame her olive skin. Is that steam coming off of her radiant skin?  How badly I'd love to feel the warmth of that skin beneath my hands.     The warm burn from tapping into my powers is now replaced with an even deeper warmth flooding my entire body. I am thankful for a nice breeze that blows through the Tavern from an open window. Then it hits me, her smell. She smells of vanilla and lavender, with a hint of barrel aged whiskey.  My kind of girl.      The breeze is flowing through her hair, making it brush just slightly across her full lips. Pouty, red lips that seem to be calling out to me, begging to be kissed. Slipping off my sunglasses, I look straight at her. It hits me. Like a lightning bolt shooting straight through me. Igniting my entire body.  "Whoa..." the words slipped right out. Toots behind the bar thought I had said something to her and looked in my direction with a questioning gaze. Shaking my head no at her, she went about her business. By the time I looked back at the beauty at the door, she was talking to some old guy walking by her with a cane. For some odd reason, a strange protective urge surged through me. I'm sure that old man was of no threat to Mystery Woman up front, but I couldn't shake this feeling inside.     I didn't just NEED her. I needed to be by her side, to protect her, to help her, to be whatever she needed, whenever she needed. I wanted to be near her.     Then, for some reason, she was grabbing her jacket and was walking out. The warmth I felt just moments ago quickly dissipates. Even though I am glad to have my wits back in order with her gone... I am now left with such an emptiness I can't explain. Damnit, this woman has got me all sorts of mixed up. No!     I can't let her leave, not yet. Without thinking too much into it, I am up out of my barstool, tossing some coin on the bar, and headed out that front door after her.  What the hell is the matter with you Wyatt? Chasing after some strange woman that you don't even know? In the dark? In the rain?  Creeper!     I'm not exactly sure what direction she headed off to. Good thing I happen to be REALLY good at finding people. Tapping into my powers, I center myself. Focusing on the rage within, I feed the hungry monster living inside of me. The warmth flows throughout my body. It increases in speed and in heat until it resembles more of a burning sensation.  Mmmm.     There really is nothing on this earth quite like this feeling. I'm completely whole in this frame of mind and in every sense of being . Feeling one with everything around me, yet separate, all at the same time. Honing in on my senses and using this sweet burn to locate the mysterious woman. Her beautiful face takes shape in my mind, and then like radar, I am pulled into her direction. I take the road and follow her trail. Anybody in their right mind wouldn't be walking around in this onslaught of rain. Damn near impossible to see. If it wasn't for my heightened abilities, and the intrigue of this woman, I know I wouldn't be out here.      She's close, so I slow down my pace. I don't want to freak her out. As I round the corner of a building and approach a dead end, there she is. Standing in the middle of the road with her head tilted to the sky.  She looks glorious.     The rain drenching her but she keeps her face to the sky like she welcomes it. Allowing it to wash over her. I notice that her body is trembling, shoulders shaking. Is she crying? Engulfed with the compulsion to rush out to her, I want to wrap her tightly in my arms and never let go. A feeling I am a stranger to, it's odd for me, but somehow, feels so natural.  What's wrong with me? I KILL people, not SAVE them! Why am I so drawn to you?     I begin to walk closer, but something strange starts to fill the air. Something inside me starts to stir and I sense danger. Picking up my stride so I can reach her and protect her from whatever is coming, I come to a dead stop. The danger isn't coming to her, it's coming FROM her.  What the hell?     I better take cover, but stay close enough to figure out who, or what, this woman is. Slipping inside a nearby vacant storefront building, I feel the ground beneath me begin to vibrate. With her head still tilted back, she starts to raise her arms out at her sides. No longer sobbing, she raises her head, now facing forward. I can only see her face at a profile view but even from here I can tell that the look on her face is an emotion I know all too well. It's that of anger, pure, unforgiving rage.  Oh s**t! Are you like me? Well, this is going to get good. Let it loose sweetheart, and welcome to MY world!     I've never encountered anyone like me before. Didn't know there were other's with "abilities". I mean, I assumed there probably was, but never had the opportunity to be around someone else that could do THINGS. Wish I had some popcorn right about now.  Let's see what you got gorgeous.     Like she heard me, the air begins to shift around her. Rain still falling everywhere, only now it wasn't touching her. Some sort of shield, or barrier, begins to shape. Protecting her.  And then....an explosion.      Blue hued sparks fly in all directions, shattering everything in it's path. A blue ripple runs through trees, through buildings(including the one I'm taking shelter in), through glass, and it's tearing everything apart. I take cover as soon as I see the ripple making it's way right to me. Glass, and building debris flies everywhere. The crashing and breaking noise is almost deafening. Coughing from the clouds of dust surrounding me in this rubble, I drag myself out. A little banged up, but if I had been closer or if I was just a mere NORMAL person, I'm not sure I would have made it through that.  Not sure who you are Beauty, but you sure do pack one hell of a punch!     I stumble out of the rubble, and make my way to her. After delivering that sort of blow, she has GOT to be wiped. Even though the burn inside isn't mind jarring anymore, I still can't shake this need to be near her or to make sure she is safe and okay. As I walk closer to her, I am able to take notice to the total amount of damage she just dealt to this entire area. It's pretty impressive actually, and I'm not one who is easily impressed.      "Holy Shit." I rasp out as I stand behind her.     "You have got to be kidding me." she softly mutters right before she passes out.     Great. Not the reaction I had hoped to have from her, but I guess it sure does beat having her run away from me, again...         Well.... Now what?
