9 "Good morning," Nib sang as she walked into the room. I sat up bolt upright, searching for Flitter to make sure he was covered. I sighed with relief the moment I caught a flicker of gold in the pouch I'd been using to carry him. Despite it having been a few days, he was still returning to the pouch whenever he could. Either he really liked it in there, or he realised it was the safest place to hide from the person who hated him. At least I had my own room now, which meant I could let him fly around and slowly regain the strength in his wings. Thankfully, the burn had almost completely healed. "Oh, I'm sorry. I startled you."
