11 My ears strained against the silence of the night, but I wanted to be sure NIb was asleep before I tried to send Flitter out into the night. Once I was certain the only sounds were the creaking of the house in the wind, I slipped out of bed and padded towards the small window. It wasn't big enough to fit through myself, but it would be more than adequate for Flitter to fit through, and that was the most important thing.
