The words are expressed matter-of-factly and without sentiment. But I know the intent is to mock and mentally torment. Interesting thoughts indeed...
If Mrs. Winthrop indeed wanted me to lounge about the pool then it would be a simple matter to order my release and have Lucinda guide me to the patio. As with all Winthrop facilities, the swimming area is grand, luxurious but not overly ostentatious. Impressive slabs of marble peppered with Greek artifacts perched on columnar pedestals, it is remindful of many wealthy recreational facilities... except the marble is imported and the statues are priceless genuine
