NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY

NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY Some months earlierLucy Anderson loved a good crime story. Fact or fiction didn’t bother her. If pushed she would say her favourite tales were those serial killer stories. Apparently, you could buy tonnes of those kinds of books in America, but Lucy had no idea how to go about getting them. Did you have to phone bookshops over there and ask them to send you some in exchange for a cheque? Lucy’s mind boggled at how expensive that would work out. Phoning the US, the costs of the books, sending a cheque across the Atlantic and then the postage fees for the books themselves. She’d have to content herself with the occasional tabloid story and the crime fiction she read voraciously, PD James, Agatha Christie, and her all-time favourite book, In Cold Blood.
