Saving Akira (Complete)

Chapter 13

     Within fifteen minutes they arrived at Noel’s office. Daelin, Scott, and Cam quickly filed out of the truck and checked the area for any signs of a shooter. As Jon got out of the truck the three men surrounded him and Akira keeping their eyes peeled for any kind of danger. Noel met them at the door and let them inside. “What the hell is going on here? What happened to her and what was that about someone shooting at you guys?” 

     Not waiting for an answer she lead the way to one of the exam rooms moving out of the way for Jon to move in ahead of her. “Get her undressed so I can take a look at her Jon. The rest of you out in the hall and one of you had best start telling me what the hell is going on.” Noel slipped out of the room to give Jon privacy to undress Akira. 

     “Noel she managed to get away while we were sleeping. From what we can tell she jumped into a tree and ripped her stitches at that point. From that point she ran for the water and only managed to make things worse. All of this we told you about. Unfortunately, when we got back to Jon’s place someone took a shot at the vehicle. If we had not been turning into a space it is highly likely one of us would have been shot as well. The others on guard are looking for our shooter now. After you get her stitched up and so on so forth we are going to head to Rockfish Gap up to the pride compound.” Daelin said in a rush as if trying to just get it all out in one quick painless fashion. 

     “Daelin is Christina still the doctor out there at the compound?” Noel asked and received a nod in response. “Excellent. I will patch her up as best I can here but when you get to the compound Christina needs to meet you at the office there. Akira is going to need to be watched for a while to make sure she is going to be alright. Lucky for you guys Rockfish Gap is only a couple hours away. Go sit out in the waiting room while I tend to her.” She turned on her heels and headed back into the exam room. 

     As Noel entered she could see that Akira had lost quite a bit of blood just by looking at the amount pooled between Jon’s fingers as he tried to stop the flow. “She did a number on that shoulder.” Noel said as she approached. “Move out of the way Jon so I can get her stitched back up and check for more damage.” 

     Jon moved to the other side out of Noel’s way so that he could hold Akira’s hand so she knew he was there. Noel grabbed some supplies and quickly cleaned out the wound. After thoroughly checking it out Noel stitched it up and put another bandage on it. “Jon I am going to give her something for pain, more antibiotics, and a sedative just to be safe. When you get to the compound she needs to be taken to Christina’s office to be watched over through the night. You will be able to stay with her. I am in hopes that the feeling of her Mate close by will keep her calm. Do not worry the sedative will make her sleep probably through tomorrow afternoon. At that point it will be up to Christina if she wishes to sedate her further. If you need me Jon just call and I will come out to Rockfish Gap. Let me grab a nightgown of mine that I brought with me just in case she needed it.” 

     Before Jon could answer Noel had left the room to grab the gown and the injections she intended to give to Akira. During that time frame Akira began to stir. The smell of earth and spice filled her senses and she knew without a shadow of a doubt that it was Jon. The scent was soothing to her and her panther for that matter, which was madder than all hell at Akira for running in the first place. Softly she groaned out his name but did not wake up just yet. “Yes baby I am here you just rest. I promise you are safe.” Jon leaned in and gently kissed her forehead.  

     Noel returned to the room and helped Jon get her into the nightgown. “The saltwater no doubt caused a lot more pain so that is why she has not woke up completely yet. Once I give her these injections she will not wake up until tomorrow afternoon as I mentioned. However, just in case she does manage to wake up I am going to send another injection with you. Jon she needs to rest and you need to find a way to make sure she does because the next time she opens up this wound she will have to be hospitalized and sedated until it has healed.” Noel proceeded to give Akira the shots that mentioned earlier. “Jon I know this is hard on you but you need to stay strong for her. I get the feeling that this problem that is following her is far from over. You guys be safe out there and I will come up next weekend to check on her myself. Christina is good so she is in good hands.” 

    “Thank you Noel this means a lot to me. I just wish I could get her to understand she does not have to continue to deal with this on her own. She ran so she could try to protect me from what is going on. A noble but foolish act, she will make a great Alpha female for my leap I feel it deep in my soul.” After the injections were finished Jon wrapped Akira up in a couple of blankets and picked her up cradling her like the precious bundle she is. 

     “You are welcome. Go on get her to safety tell the others I will see them next weekend.” She shooed Jon out of the room so she could clean it up. It was best that there was no sign of them having been there. “Oh and one more thing Jon…” Noel went to the door to stop him so she could give him the syringe filled with the sedative for Akira. “Akira will be going into heat very soon. All the signs are there so be prepared.” Not bothering to wait for him to answer Noel returned to the exam room to clean it up. 

     Jon met Daelin and Cam in the waiting room. “Noel gave her more antibiotics, pain killers, and a sedative. Cam can you take this small box in my hand it has another syringe filled with a sedative for her in case she wakes up. I have to take her to Christina’s office for observation tonight. Noel said it is possible that Christina might decide to keep her sedated for a while. Evidently this sedative she was given tonight should keep her out cold until sometime tomorrow afternoon…well this afternoon.”  

     Cam took the small box that held the syringe in it. “Okay Jon we will fill you on the way to Rockfish Gap.” Cam spoke as he and Daelin flanked Jon and Scott took point in front of them. Together they made it out to the truck where Cam took Akira into his arms so that Jon could get into the truck. Softly Jon growled at Cam as he took Akira back into his arms. “Hey man get your panther under control. You know I have no designs on your Mate.” 

     “Sorry Cam I know that but I am so stressed and worried about her right now. My panther is not happy that she is injured further. Forgive me old friend.” Softly he kissed Akira’s forehead and cradled her close to him. “I will protect you cara I promise.” He whispered softly into her ear. Come hell or high water he was going to keep her safe from the fool trying to kill and if he had to he would also protect her from herself.
