Chapter 18

    “Prima Strauss knew how special my mom was and that I have inherited her same abilities. They were supposed to protect my parents, but they were to late the second time we were attacked by the same Hunter. When they took me to the hospital to try and get me sedated, I freaked out because I can not stand needles. I found out then that I had my own personal guard named Mike. He got me to calm down and became my guardian.” Akira’s tears continued to fall down her cheeks as she gave a sad smile thinking about Mike. “He called me Tesoro or treasure. Without the Alpha and Prima’s knowledge he continued to search for the Hunter who killed my parents.”

    “Oh Cara that is a lot to have to deal with at such a young age. I am sure your Alpha and Prima tried their best to get to you and your parents on time. Go on let me here the rest.” Jon pulled his Mate closer and laid his head against hers trying to give her all the support she needed to tell him everything.

    “One day I came home from high school so excited because I had been asked to the prom. It is every girl’s dream to be asked to the prom but when I got home, I found the Alpha and Prima sitting alone in Mike’s office. I knew something was wrong and demanded to know where he was. They really did not want to tell me, but they had no choice. The Alpha commanded me to go to the packhouse to stay for at least one night. I refused to stay any longer I had Mike’s funeral to plan. I stuck around until I finished high school and then I ran. I would not let that Hunter destroy anyone else I loved. Not to mention the fact I did not trust my Alpha and Prima. I blamed them for all of their deaths. The Hunter has chased me all over the country. I have to move every so often or he finds me like he did in Virginia Beach. Jon do you know why we are fated Mates?” She lifted her head to look up at Jon as she awaited his answer.

    Jon canted his head so he could look at her as he spoke. “No, I do not know why but I am very glad she made you my Mate. I know you are scared Akira, but I promise you I will do my best to keep you safe and so will Alpha Daelin and his pride.” Gently he brushed some of her hair out of her face. “Now tell me why we are Mated because you obviously had an eventful time in the Land of the Dreams.”

    “As you know our Omegas are different than most of the wolves out there. Our Omegas feel the leap or pride members feelings and general mental stabilities. Omegas can also sense when a member of their leap or pride is injured. My mom was incredibly special and quite rare. Her panther was pure white and larger than any Alpha I have ever seen. White panthers are both Alpha male or female as well as the Omega. These rare panthers are hunted by not just their own kind but also by humans so we can control whoever they want. While I was in the Land of Dreams the Moon Goddess came to me and told me you are my protector and of course Mate. She allowed me to see my parents and Mike again so I could say goodbye to them. I also need to contact my former Alpha and Prima so I can apologize to them for how I have behaved towards them.”

    “I knew you were special Akira but never in a million years would I have thought that I was blessed with someone so rare as you. I will take care of you for as long as the Moon Goddess gives us together. I will enlighten Daelin on what is going on, so you do not have to go through all of this again. You can concentrate on healing emotionally and physically. I will be taking you tot the packhouse in a few hours when the Primary Doctor Noel gives me the go ahead. I would really like it if you stayed with me in my room but if you are not ready for that I will understand.” Let her stay anywhere but with him was extremely hard to do. His panther was growling in his head so loudly that Jon had to block his panther out.

    “I would like it if I could stay with you My Heart. I know we are not mated yet but I still know how much you mean to me and my panther. I have yet to shift but will do so when we do Mate.” Jon chuckled softly at her. “Oh crud of course you already know this. How stupid can I be?” She mumbled truly embarrassed by what she had said.
