Chapter 4

Jax's P.O.V "This place looks like s**t. I mean it's the truth mum." I tried to hide the disgust in my voice but it's kinda hard when the place you move to is a dump. "Jax, just give it a try. You never know but it might be good for you." 'Keep thinking that mum.' Again correct.  "Where are we staying honey? You never actually told us." At this point, I zoned out as there was no point in even getting to know this place as I would be leaving at the end of school. 'Dude focus. New target?' I wanted to leave that life behind but strong habitats are hard to break. There in front of me was a reason to stay sane in this newfound dump that I now have to call home.  She was walking along looking like an angel... 'No going soft Jax.' I had to tell myself. She looked amazing. Her hair was in a simple ponytail and curled nicely at the ends. Her top was white and flowing around her showing an amazing figure. I couldn't see her face as she had her face down looking at her phone listening to music through headphones.  "Jaxon! Come help us carry in these boxes and be helpful for once in your life." My father cried across the drive. I sighed and took one last glance at the angel before turning round to help move in the boxes. I turned back around as I didn’t believe that someone could just disappear. That angel had managed it. There was no trace that she had even been there. I shook my head at my own stupidity and got some of the boxes into the house and was surprised at the size of the rooms. My bedroom was twice the size of my old one and had a wardrobe to put all my clothes and hide things from my parents; that they hopefully didn’t find when they packed up some of my stuff. I looked out of my window and I could see into a room next door. It looked like a girls bedroom with the curtains flowing in the wind with a view to the pale pink almost white walls. A bed was in the centre of the room and had a velvet look to the sheets. It seemed so inviting and welcoming. This was going to be a great view for the rest of my time here. I could get very used to this. "Jaxon, what are you looking so intently at?" "Uh?" I turned to see my father standing in my bedroom doorway with his arms crossed. He looked mad. "Is that a girls bedroom Jaxon?" He questioned me. "So what if it is? How would I know anyway? We are new here and I don't know the neighbours." I tried to keep my cool but that blew off very quickly. "I'm going to go explore the area," I said as I barged past him without looking at him. "Be back soon. We are going next door to meet the neighbours as a family so you better be back in a couple of hours." He shouted after me as I nodded my head at his words and waved at him as I walked off. *** I had been wandering the town aimlessly for the past hour when I stumbled across a park hiding in the cover of the trees. It looked like the kind of place I could fit right into. The benches and swings were starting to fall apart. It seemed like it had been abandoned for many years yet it was a hangout spot. I was still looking around when I heard a voice from behind me. "Dude. You new here cause this is my turf so you had better clear off before the rest of us come." I turned to see a brunette standing from where I came holding a bottle of vodka in her hand. She looked good and someone who would understand me and I could get on with. Yet there was that mystery girl that had been on my mind since I saw her. I have a feeling that this brunette is going to become a good mate. "Dude! Did you not hear what I said? Clear off this turf. You don't belong here!" She was starting to get angry and it was clear in her face and her voice.  "Chill will ya. Trying to find a place where I can fit in. Go to a ton of parties and get wasted all the time. Can you help with that?" I tried. I wanted to become her mate and have someone like me. "Well then. This is just the place for you." A smile had started to show on her face as she looked at me.  "Thanks so..." My phone had started to blast my ringtone for my father and I knew that I should head back but I might have just made a mate. "What is it?" I shouted down the phone. "Is that any way to talk to your father?" "I don't care. I had possibly just met a mate and now you want me back home for dinner with the neighbours. No thanks!" I saw the brunette giving me a look so I gave the same one back. She had decided to start to leave but I couldn't let her leave. "I'll come back. Give me 30 mins." and hung up on him. I chased after the brunette and asked her, "What's your name? I'm Jax and like you had already guessed new in town." "Clarissa. My mates call me Clari. It sounds like you need to get back home, perfect boy." She said while shaking her head at me. "When you are truly a rebel you don't listen to parents." "I don't normally but there is a girls bedroom in my neighbours' house. I want to meet her and try it." I said while smirking. She looked at me in disbelief at just those few words. I know how to hide my personality but when I want I can be the worst of them all. That is how I got my name back home as the most feared. Well, that and my actual name but I never talk about that. "See you around Clari!" I called over my shoulder as I started to run back home. I could finally meet the girl who lives in that house and hopefully find information on the mystery girl stuck in my head. They should know about the people in the area. It is so small. Not the kind of place that my father would normally choose. He loves his luxury and struggles without it.  *** Before I followed my parents out of the house I went up to my room and changed my clothes to more suitable clothing for dinner with new people. I picked a classic black top with some different jeans as they got dirty from the park. My parents were waiting downstairs for me so we could all go over together. When we got there I saw a boy my age standing outside talking on the phone. As we got closer I could hear him talking about a girl and he wished to tell her something. He walked straight into the house and his mum, I think, came to the door to greet us. She looked nothing like the boy that had just gone inside. "Hello! You must Katherine" she said as she pointed to my mum. "Albert" to my father and "Jaxon" as she pointed to me. "That's correct. Helen?" My mum confirmed. "Yes. I also see you have met Zac who walked in just before. He is here on request of my daughter who I'm guessing will be coming down soon." She said while smiling at us the whole time. It also looks like the plan for the girl is now gone as she has her boyfriend here. "Katie honey. Come down, our neighbours are here!" She shouted up the stairs. We were taken through to the lounge where another man introduced himself as Cody. He appeared to be Helen's brother by how close they were and he is called Uncle Cody. I do wish that I had a close relative like they do. Helen and Cody don't seem to look like siblings. I wonder if it is fake. 'Why would they fake something like that though Jax?'  The adults started talking and I used the time to zone out. I kept on thinking about the mystery girl and what she might look like. I was brought back to the present by a gasp from someone in front of me. She was wearing a beautiful white outfit and looked stunning. When I finally looked at her face I realized who it was. Wait. How did I know it was her? I have never seen her face. Before I could say anything she had run off and nobody followed her. I had to take advantage of this. Her hair was the same. Her clothing style. Everything about her showed my mysterious girl. The girl I couldn't stop thinking about. She is my next-door neighbour. I need to know how she managed to just disappear. It was so fast. She wasn't even walking towards her house. How can someone disappear as though they are a witch?
