Katie's P.O.V
I lifted my head to the sound of my mum shouting. “Katie! Can you hear me?” I looked around and I realised something. I never left my room. I never saw moving trucks outside. It was just a dream. This boy wouldn’t be next door. I imagined him. He was fake. His parents were fake. I wouldn’t have them as neighbours.
“I can hear you, mum!” I shouted to give her peace of mind that I was in fact still breathing behind these doors.
"Honey we need to go to the airport. Your uncle is landing in half an hour and you know he would want you there to greet him." My mum yelled from behind my bedroom door that was still locked. "Could I come in please for a second Katie. I want to talk to you about some things that have happened and how you are feeling."
"Not now mum, we can talk soon though. Be down in 15 minutes."
Before I left my wardrobe I touched up my makeup to look as though I had not been crying for a few hours. Under my eyes, I put on the concealer and set it in place, mascara and a scarf and I was ready to go. 'Phone, where's the phone?' 3 missed calls from Zac. Really, was that even necessary? Call him back? No. "You have one..."
"Ahhh!" I screamed as I threw my phone across my room towards my bed but missed, as my phone started to speak to me.
"From Zachy Baby." Great so he even left a voicemail. Wait, the contact name needs to change I thought as I cringed.
"Hey Kat. Sorry, Katie. I am so used to calling you, Kat. I just was wondering why you're so mad at me. Please tell me what I did so I can fix it." You can't. "I do have a lot of different things that I'm having to deal with and they aren't things I want you to be involved in. They take up a lot of my time outside of school. I need to go now for the next rounds but call me soon please. Zachy Baby out." I rolled my eyes at how he leaves but I know I need to tell him the problems so I can at least get back at him easily in the future. I sent him a message telling him I could meet him later.
"Katie! We need to get going now. Hurry up!" My mum called from the other side of the door. Giving myself one last look in the mirror I quickly unlocked the door to walk straight into mum standing in the doorway. "Honey are you okay? You didn't come and speak to me after school like you normally do."
"Mum I'm fine, just a small problem with Zac. It's all sorted." She smiled in relief and started walking towards the stairs. After mentally preparing to leave the house again I followed and sat down in the car with mum to drive off to the airport and collect Uncle Cody. I noticed outside that there were, in fact, moving trucks. They must have appeared since I had been home. It wasn’t a dream then. But I was still in my closet. Just need to forget about it.

I saw Uncle Cody coming out of bagging and I immediately started to run towards him. Luckily he saw me coming and knew my next move as I launched myself into the air for him to catch me. I may be 17 but I'm most definitely still a child. "Hey, baby girl." He said after spinning me around a few times. "How is my favourite non-blood niece?"
"Perfect Uncle Cody! I'm so happy you are here!" I exclaimed. I am his only niece that I know of, even if we are not directly related. He has never talked about his family and never mentioned anybody special to him. I think he might just be single forever. He might be like me though, people that you like but they never like you back. That is just a different form of heartbreak altogether. 'Definitely still a child.' "I have some things I want to talk to you about," I said, my tone suddenly changing and a shocked look passed over Uncle Cody's face before he masterfully hid it. I wonder what else he might hide from me. He isn’t my immediate uncle, just a great friend of mum’s. I always wonder how they met and stayed friends but they never tell me the story. They close up as soon as I bring it up as a topic.
"I look forward to it baby girl." He now seemed on edge and unsure. Did I just ruin another relationship of mine? Mum walked forward and greeted Uncle Cody while I zoned out looking towards other passengers in the bagging area. My eyes caught a boy my age. He screamed bad boy and playboy. They are kind of the same thing though. Right? He had black skinny ripped jeans with a tight black top showing off all his muscles. He seemed upset to be here. They had a lot of bags whoever it was. They might have moved over here. They started to walk off and he looked up. I hid in the embrace of Uncle Cody so he couldn't see me. I wonder who he was? But I know one thing and that he is a clique hot bad boy. And the newest person in my collection of crushes unknown to all. I have to write down who he is once I finally find out, which would only be until tomorrow at school. He would be the talk of the school and it will be to easy to find out who he is.
As I saw him disappear I remembered more of my dream. The boy had the same clothes as him and walked the same. It must be a coincidence though. He has only just arrived. I am just being paranoid about it. There is no way in hell that he could actually be my neighbour. He is so different from anything else or anyone that lives here. I wonder why he is here and why come here? Some people think that this place is bad and wonder why anybody would want to live here. For those who do live here, we know how good it can be. He can’t have been his choice. He looked so depressed. He most definitely didn’t want to come here. I wonder if he is from the city with the way he looks so disapproving of our perfect little town in the country.
