Chapter thirty seven b - making the Alpha furious

2167 Words
Adrien I'm now at the festival with all my pack members but I still feel lonely and void inside.  Even when I'm addressing the pack, I did it absentmindedly. All that's roaming around my mind is her.  Is she still alive?.  Is she up yet?.  Is she in any kind of trouble?.  Is she having difficulty breathing?.  That's the kind of questions I keep asking my self again and again.  I want to sneak out of this place and check on her but it would make my pack all worried if they find out that I'm not here even for a second.  "Sir, about the prisoners, what are we gonna do with them now?" Beta Harry asks.  "What prisoners?" I ask, trying to remember who he's talking about.  It's really hard to think at this moment.  The place is crowded with so much noise and the fact that my mind is far away from here adds up to that too.  "What?" he says with so much confusion written all over his face.  I want to shout at him for disturbing my peace of mind. Then it came to my mind that he's talking about those human beings.  Gosh! I hate saying these words now.  "Bring the ones that were found spying on us days ago" I say.  "What about those girls?" he asks.  Why does everybody keeps talking about them. It's like they all know that one of them is my mate to begin with. Well, I hope not.  "I'll deal with them later" I say and that's final.  He walks away.  Gosh! Why do people have to be this annoying. I was looking forward to this day but now it's all ruined. Now I have to pretend that I'm happy and enjoying this when I'm truly not.  My thoughts drifted once again to where they are not supposed to.  I start to recall all that happened when I thought she was dead.  The truth is I was so scared at that time but I refused to accept that.  An Alpha is never supposed to be scared, not even for his mate.  I've never given much thought to this mate thing. I used to think that they are just pretending to be attracted to each other just to make their partner happy, but now I know better.  Ever since I found out that I have a mate, I'm always worried about how she is, where she might be, is she eating well, is she even sleeping well.  Sometimes I used to even wonder if she's even with someone other than me and trust me, that thought only makes me more furious.  I used to feel overprotective of her even though I'm hell mad at her. I guess that's what all this mate thing is all about after all, two people sharing one soul.  A smile slipped out of my mouth when I remembered our kiss, technically, my kiss since she's not even alive when I stole it.  I can still fell the moisture of her lips on mine.  It felt like I was in cloud nine at that moment.  The softness of her skin on my hand, gosh! Thinking about that makes me hard already.  "What's wrong with you, you kept smiling for no reason since when you came here?" my sister asks.  I turn to her. She's smiling as well.  She looks so beautiful when she's smiling.  "I asked you why are you smiling?" she asks again.  "I'm just happy to see everybody enjoying themselves" I say.  "Yeah, you're our Alpha, whenever we are in sorrow, you are too and when we are happy, you are too" she says and she's right.  They are my first priority.  "And you know what would make this more eye catching" she says, catching my attention once again.  "It's when you have a mate by your side" she says.  My heart skipped a beat.  Why is it that everybody keeps talking about mate?.  Is it written on my face that I have found my mate or what?.  I just stare at her for some seconds because I'm speechless.  Then an idea came to me.  "You don't have a mate now and we are both happy with each other" I say.  Her face saddens.  I shouldn't have said that, I'm just adding salt to her wound. I can't technically say that I know how she feels but I know how hard it is to be away from your mate, let alone lose them forever.  "I'm sorry" I apologize.  "No, it's OK" she says.  She even fakes a smile just to show that she's fine.  "Why don't we go over there and dance with the others" I say.  I never want to be the source of my sister's sadness.  "Great idea" she says and gets up.  My sister might have grown up but she's still my baby sister. The one that I would turn this world upside down for. I'd go against everyone for her. She's all I've got left.  We walk over to the dancing floor.  Everybody stops when they see us approaching.  "Why did you stop, come on, enjoy yourselves to your heart content today" my sister says.  They just stand there looking at me.  I know what they are thinking. I'm not the type of person to be found near the dance floor, so they are scared if they might have done something wrong.  "Uhumm, let's all let go of our stress today, that's what the moon festival is all about, isn't it?" I say.  I walk over to the middle with my sister.  I motion for the DJ to turn on the music and he did.  The soft music starts to fill the place.  I start dancing slowly with her.  We danced and danced.  "You know, it's been a while since you danced, I gotta say you are amazing" my sister whispers in my ear.  My sister is tall too but she's only reaching almost an inch further from my shoulder.  "I'd do anything for you" I whisper in her ear too.  "Does that involve letting me kill the murderers of my mate too?" she asks.  I stop dancing and stare at her.  She looks at me with so much hope that I won't let her down.  No way. I won't let her kill my mate. I'd rather just lock her up for the rest of her life than to lose her again.  But she's my sister too, she deserves justice from me.  As if just to remind me that I made a promise long time ago to hand my mate over to my sister, the Oracle and her side chick popped out of no where.  I walk out of the dance floor and head over to her.  She's not a kind of person to be found in this kind of festivals. So, there must be a very huge reason for her visit.  I walk over to her and I'm sure my sister's following me too,  I can hear her footsteps as well as her scent.  "What brings you here?" I ask.  "You could have called me" I add.  "The matter is such that I can't wait for you to be called, my Alpha" she says.  "There have been forces trying to tamper with your decision lately, take control of it" she says.  If I would say something, if they is someone more strict than me in this pack, then it's the Oracle. She believes that we have to keep all our emotions aside in order to make the right decisions and she's right by the way.  "All of us are looking up to you for justice, so don't let us down" she says.  The half oracle looks at me with a warning written all over her face.  I remembered when she told me the other day that I'll be given another chance by the moon goddess.  I still don't understand what she meant by that.  "Remember one thing always" she pauses.  "It's the pack, then us" she says.  I nod my head.  I understand what she's trying to say. I can't just let everybody get away with what they did just because he's close to me, not even me.  "I'll get back to my place, may the moon goddess bless you all" she says to me and my sister before she turns to leave.  The half oracle stayed behind.  She keeps staring at me with that warning look.  Now I'm starting to fear this woman as well.  "Come on, let's go" the Oracle calls out to her.  She turns around and follows her.  "What is she talking about?" my sister asks as soon as they are out of sight.  "It's a long story" I say.  Which I really don't wanna talk about. She didn't drag the matter any further again.  Even if she did, she will not get any answers from me.  When we get back to the festival, Beta Harry has already come back with the prisoners.  The four of them are still alive I see.  I walk over to them.  I feel like ripping their hearts out but I force myself against it.  "I'm giving you one last chance, tell me what brought you here?" I ask.  I want them to accept their crimes with their own mouth.  All of them look like they are in their mid thirties.  "I told you, we have nothing against you, we just came to find our colleagues" the man who spoke the first time that they were brought to me says.  From the way he's avoiding my gaze, I can tell that there's something suspicious about him.  I stand there looking at him for some minutes.  "OK, let them go" I say.  Everybody stands there looking at me.  "What are you doing?" my sister asks. "But they are criminals" Beta Harry says.  "Yeah, I know that, but they just said that they have nothing against us, so why are we keeping them, there is no reason for that anymore" I say.  The guards that are holding them didn't do anything but stare at me, unsure what to do.  "Let them go" I say and this time with much authority in my voice.  All the pack members present at the festival are looking at me with disappointment.  But I know what I'm doing and they don't know about that.   The guards start unlocking their cuffs.  As soon as they finished unlocking them all and they are free now.  "Now you can go away from here" I say and turn to leave.  I have hardly taken ten steps when the man runs towards me with a gun in his hand.  He shoots a bullet right at the back of my left arm.  Before he pulls the trigger again, I'm already standing in front of him.  The guards run forward to attack them but I stop them.  I throw the gun out of his hand with my leg.  He falls back on the ground.  I'm sure he lost balance from me hitting both his hands and also the fact that he didn't think I would do that.  I lean down to where he is sitting on the ground.  "So, you think that you could kill me this easily" I say, smirking.  "Too bad, because I already did that, you'd be dead in no time" he says, smirking as well.  Everybody around me gasps.  "That bullet is poisonous" he says and laughs evilly.  I showed him my already healed wound.  He looks at it in disbelief.  "You mean this?" I ask.  Now he didn't answer back because he has nothing to say. I pick him up with one hand and throw him over to the other side.  I'm so angry right now that I didn't know when I changed into my wolf form.  It has to do with the moon. It's full already and I can't control my wolf in a full moon. He's more powerful than ever.  I storm onto the man and within seconds, he's been turned into shreds by me.  I turn to the others and walk over to them.  "Please, we promise you we have no idea of his intentions" I they all say.  "Please spare us!!!" they keep begging, making me more angrier.  I mount on them too and within a blink of an eye, they are all no more in one piece that they were supposed to be but many scattered pieces.  I walk over to the pack members, growling.  They all bowed their heads in respect.  I'm so angry now that I can kill anybody.  I hit the ground with one of my paws and they all know what that was for.  All the werewolves shifted into their wolf form.  Every shifter in my pack shifts into his real form.  I howled and they joined me too.  That's what a full moon festival is meant for after all.  This will also teach those human species not to mess with me, most especially on full moon festivals.
