Chapter thirty one - All feeling restless

I've just finished taking my refreshing bath in the river and I've already washed my clothes. I changed into a short and a vest. I'm going to sleep so there's no need for me to wear any heavy clothing. I spread my semi washed clothes, I have just washed them without a soap or detergent. I head inside the tent and see that star light has already fallen asleep.
I lie down besides her to sleep too. Many minutes have pass by but I still couldn't get myself to fall asleep. I'm feeling restless for no reason. Maybe it's because of the fact that I overslept during the day. I sit up and bring out my phone. Since that day when I switch it off, I've never even turned my head at it. I mean the next day that we ran away from home. I switched it on and lucky for me, it's still charged. I silently walk out of the tent. There's not network connection here and I don't wanna wake up star light. I walk away from the tent in search for some network.
I want to call my friends, Martha and Carly. It's been days since I left home and I'm sure they are still worried. Calling them and informing them that I'm still alive wouldn't hurt, I guess. I had to walk for almost ten minutes, then I luckily found some network here even though it's not strong but I hope it will connect my call.
I first dial on Martha's number. It keeps ringing but no one answered.
"I guess she has already fallen asleep" I say.
Martha is not a night owl like me. She falls asleep as soon as soon the sky goes dark. I then decide to call Carly. I'm sure a Doctor will not be asleep at this hour of the night. It's only thirty minutes past nine. Her phone keeps ringing too. Just when the call is about to end, she finally picks up.
"Hey, I hope I'm not disturbing you" I say as soon as I pick up the call.
"Hello, are you there, Carly?" I ask when I heard that she didn't say anything.
"Hello?" I say again.
I check the screen of my phone to make sure that I'm still connected to her and to my surprise, she's still on the line.
What's going on?.
"Hello" I hear her voice.
She seems scared and tired.
"Hello, Carly what is wrong with you? Are you sick?" I ask with so much concern.
"Umm, I'm...I'm fine don't you worry" she says in a shaky voice, which only makes me more suspicious.
"No, just tell me what's going on, are you in any kind of danger?" I ask, afraid that my dream has possibly come true.
"N...no" she answers.
"OK, enough with the drama now" I hear a voice close to her and it sounds like a male's voice.
"Hello, who are you? Where did you take my friend? Don't you dare harm her or you're gonna get it from me" I shout into the phone, threatening the man.
He might be a kidnapper for all I know.
"Oh ma'am, the lives of your friends lies in your hands now, it's up to you to save them or let them get killed" he says and starts laughing evilly.
"What do you mean by my friends?" I ask in confusion.
"Yes" he answers.
"Katrina" I hear Martha's voice in the phone.
"Martha, what happened?" I ask.
"We don't have time to tell you how it happened, just..." she was cut by someone.
"OK enough now" he says.
"What do you want with my friends you bastard?" I ask.
To say that I have the courage to say that to a dangerous person is an understatement.
"It's your own decision, if you need your friends alive, then you'll have to do as we say" he says.
"What do you want?" I ask boldly.
"We want you!!!" he answers, emphasizing the 'you' part.
"OK, I'll do what ever you want, just tell me what to do, I'll do it and in return don't hurt my friends" I beg.
"Nice to see that you're not giving us a hard time, then we would have to involve your parents" he says and I can imagine a smirk on his face.
"Don't you dare!" I shout at him.
"Oh yeah I can, so don't try to mess with me" he says, kinda like threatening me.
"OK I get it, just tell me what to do already" I say impatiently.
"Straight to business huh? I like that" he says.
I just roll my eyes, I'm starting to feel like choking him over the phone.
"I want you to come to Port's ville college by around twelve o'clock in the morning" he says.
"OK, I'll be on my way" I say.
"Ah ah, I'm not done yet" he pauses.
I listen with utmost attention this time. I know he's trying to give some conditions, that's what all kidnappers do, right?.
"When I say twelve o'clock, I mean twelve o'clock on the dot, if you add even one second, you'll have to pay with the life of one of your friends, you get me?" he asks.
I nod as if he's in front of me.
"And if you dare try to come with someone, anybody! I'd kill them all and you as well" he says in a stern voice.
"OK, I'll do whatever you want" I say.
"And one thing, informing the police about this will only be a waste of your time, so don't even try" he adds.
Am I nuts? He really thinks I'm going to tell the police. Before I can answer, he disconnects the call.
About time this happens. Kidnappers always end the call.
"What am I gonna do now?" I ask myself.
I know the only answer is I have to go rescue my friends even if that means I'd have to die in the process. I check the time on my phone and see that it's five minutes to ten. Which means I have only two hours and five minutes left to catch up with their demands.
I should go and inform Star light. But then she'll insists on following me and they strictly said not to bring anyone and star light is anyone. I set the alarm on my phone to two minutes before twelve.
"I'm sorry Star light, I hope we meet some other day" I say and run the opposite direction of our tent.
Thankfully, I have put on some land marks on our way here, so it will not be hard for me to find my way out of this forest. I will save my friends if that's the last thing to do.

It's late in the night and I still can't sleep even for a second. So I decided to just get off my bed and stand by my window. The night is looking so spectacular with the up coming full moon light. I still feel restless. It's like I'm a thousand miles away from where I should be.
"The full moon is about to come, so it's normal for you to feel restless" my beast says.
"Yes, he's right, it usually happens during these periods, you were so busy with your hospital work to even notice it" my wolf adds.
"No, you don't understand, I know I feel restless when the moon is almost full but this one's different, it's like I'm being tormented" I say.
"Just calm down and get some sleep , everything will be over in the next few days" my beast says.
"I hope you're right" I say as I lie back down on my bed.
I lie there silently but I still couldn't sleep. Drinking wouldn't be the best option for me right now because I'll wake up with a hangover tomorrow, so I decide to take some sedative drugs and luckily, they did their work perfectly.

I ran to my college without stopping even for a second to rest. Luckily, I reached there one minute before twelve.
Am I early? I hope they won't make an issue out of that too.
Ding! Ding!! Ding!!! The clock tower in my town strikes twelve.
What will happen now?. Will they call me and give me more orders?.
I keep staring at my phones screen waiting for their call but none came. The place is getting colder and as it is, I'm wearing only a pair of short and a vest.
I'm busy occupied with checking my phone that I don't even hear anyone coming closer to me or they are too fast for me to even acknowledge their presence.
I feel someone knocking me down from behind. I turn to see who it was but before I could do that, I fell on the ground and pass out.
