Diana was feeling revived by the coffee and croissant. Once she could open the curtains of the bedroom without wincing, she left the room. She immediately ran into Trevor. “Oh,” she said when she saw him. “I guess it’s later than I thought it was.” “I heard you had a rough night,” Trevor said with a smirk. “Feeling better?” “Does anything stay secret around here?” she asked. She was exasperated, raising her arms in a defeated gesture. “Nope.” “Right. Your psychic connection or whatever,” Diana said. She enjoyed the look of surprise that spread across his face. “I guess you don’t know everything,” she said snarkily. “Must have missed that on the ole mental radio.” She already knew, from what Jacob had told her, that it wasn’t like that. It was more about feelings and general senses. B
