CHAPTER 2. Hypnotizing Beauty

1631 Words
"Stay away from my daughter, young man," Christian appeared from behind Gabriel. He is holding a gun in his hand pointing at their handsome guest's face. Gabriel abruptly turned with both hands in the air to the undaunted man, who shot him a piercing glare. "Daddy! Put that scary thing down, you're scaring our visitor." Crystal, with a sweet voice, told her father and stepped closer in the man's direction. She tiptoed to reach the man's height while reaching the lamp on his hand that was raised as she also put her other hand on his chest for support. Gabriel swallowed several times when their body had close contact and if only not because of the dark surrounding, he's pretty sure his reddened face was already visible. He was stunned by his own sudden timid attitude. He's always the playful man towards any lady especially when they show their interest to him and always took advantage of the opportunity to take them, but with Crystal, he felt something weird, like there is something different from her that he can't pinpoint. Her beauty is truly different from the others, her long curly black hair seems so smooth to touch and her voice is very sweet and relaxing to hear. He felt like he was being hypnotized, 'I don't mind being hypnotized by this beautiful creature,' he thought while his eyes are glued to her every move. While Christian's breath hitch with the sudden action of her daughter with a stranger and blew a fury air after when he noticed how the young man stared at his exquisite daughter. Once Crystal successfully took the lamp she turned to her father as well and took the gun as she flashes him a smile. "Daddy, it is the first time that we had a visitor here on the island so be nice to him." She scolded her father and hid the creepy gun inside their bedroom before turning again to the guest. "I'm sorry about that, my father is just not used to having someone around who is as handsome as him." She apologized in a playful way, shrugging her shoulders. "Uh, no. I mean, fine, all good, I don't mind, I understand." Gabriel said stammering in front of the lady. Crystal chuckles at his uneasiness while her parents were worried about her being naive of the restrictions between man and woman. "My name is Crystal, what about yours?" She enthusiastically introduced and asked. "Gabe-Gabriel." He stuttered. "Nice to meet you, Gabe. Come, my father cooked a delicious chicken and vegetable soup earlier. I'm sure you are starving." She invited him as she held his hand, pulling him to have a seat at the dining and placed the lamp on the center of the table. Gabriel was surprised about her innocent gestures but feeling doubt to accept the offer as he knew that there are two pairs of eyes watching him intently and one wrong move, he knew that he'll be six feet underground. Aya was hiding behind her husband while watching her sweet daughter showing hospitality to the visitor, but she was worried for her daughter and about to step forward when her husband did the first initiative. "Sweetheart, go to your bedroom already. Let me be the one to serve our guest instead." Christian said, grabbing the bowl in her hand. The young handsome guest was still standing on his feet as he didn't know what to do when suddenly he got terrified with Crystal's father. "Don't be stubborn and go inside your bedroom with your mother, now." He firmly said with a cold stare, showing his full authority. Crystal frowned and looked down. She very well knew that tone, it's a signal that she needs to obey like a good girl. "Okay, dad," she complied and handed him the bowl before she walked past him. But before she could step away, she tilted her head and pushed her curly hair aside that covered her face to take a glance at the man and smiled at him sweetly, but her father noticed what she did. "Crystal!" His strict restraint made his daughter tremble in fear and dash to her mother. Christian starts to pour soup in the bowl and kindly places it on the table in front of the young man that is still standing on his feet with his head bent down. "Don't tell me you are going to eat your food while standing?" Christian let out. "Uh no, sir." Gabriel quickly took a seat. "Thank you so much for your kindness, sir, and for letting me shelter inside your house." He added with so much gratitude. "Stop thanking me and finish your food already so you can take a rest," Christian told him and about to turn away when he remembered something. "By the way, I want you to immediately leave the island tomorrow before the sun rises." He seriously commanded and waited for Gabriel to agree. When the latter nodded his head in response, Christian walked away to secure his family from the unknown guest. The weather continues to rumble outside the cabin, while Gabriel made himself comfortable on the not-so-long sofa in the living area, hanging his feet on the edge. Crystal laid beside her mother but cannot sleep as she thinks about the handsome guest inside their cabin but her father was sitting beside the door not allowing anyone to get out nor to enter on either side. Gabriel had his slumber peacefully for hours until Christian started tapping and shaken his arm, breaking his wonderful dream. "Time to go, young man," Christian said when he starts to blink his eyes. He moved and sat up from his position jerking his head around the place. The surrounding is still dark but the noise of last night's weather madness has no more. "Where is your yacht parked?" Christian inquired. "The waves pushed the yacht to the rocky shore, sir, with a bunch of boulders and steep rocks." He explained. "I see, now pick up your things and let's go," Christian ordered and the defeated man weakly picked up his things and stood up. But just as he looked up he saw the beautiful young lady leaning against the door frame, smiling and watching his every move. He smiled back at her and wished he could get a chance to know her even more but afraid to take action because of the terrifying father she has around. 'I'll see you again, Crystal.' He thought before following Christian who's already gone outside the house. Gabriel's eyes widened in shock when he stepped outside, though it hasn't much brightness yet to light up the surrounding, the damage of last night's fury is already visible. Different fruits scattered everywhere, big trees were being extracted from the ground with their roots, and also some animals didn't survive the violent typhoon. He saw how Christian unbelievably shook his head in disbelief looking around the area. "This is such a wide damage," he mumbled, trying to show some sympathy but the middle-aged man didn't answer and start striding to walk the young man to where his yacht is, to make sure that he will evacuate the island as soon as possible. "Sir, if you want I can help you repair and clean the place," Gabriel added, trying to convince Christian, to show his gratitude for the kind gesture he received from them, and also to make an excuse to have a chance to get closer to his young lovely daughter. "Don't bother yourself about it, young man," Christian retorted, with a serious expression as he walks ahead. "I just thought to give thanks for letting me stay in your house last night." Gabriel urges. "Not a chance," Christian shortly replied coldly without looking at him. He already noticed the way he looks at his daughter and he will not allow anyone to take advantage of his innocent daughter. "Sir?" Gabriel was confused about what he meant. "I mean, you already said thanks and there is no need for further action, I already appreciated your words." Gabriel frowned because of what he heard and can do nothing about it for now. 'Maybe later then,' he thought while following Christian from behind. They hike along with big trees and rocky trails while the continuous sweet bird's singing and the sounds of thick leaves of each big tree swaying keeps on entertaining them. Gabriel didn't realize that he walked that far from where his yacht is and if he didn't find the cabin soon he wasn't sure if he could withstand the destructive weather. Gabriel Anderson is twenty-five years of age and standing five feet and ten inches tall, with neutral undertone skin and thick brown hair. He was currently on a solo escapade to run away from his stressful life in Creekwood City, including the arranged marriage he had that was planned by his sweet parents. He's been on an incredible journey for days already until the great fury typhoon came and washed him out to the coastal area of Caro Island. Suddenly, after he wasn't sure how long, they reached the edge of the island on top of the cliff. He took a deep breath of the refreshing sea breeze as he closed his eyes and released like he was also discharging all the negative he has on his system and smiled. They continue on their morning stroll until they reach the rocky shore area. He gasped with the sight of his yacht's almost wreck condition, all of the stuff he had on the deck had been washed out and was scattered, floating around the rocks. "Oh, God." He brushed his hair with his fingers with so much frustration and quickly ran towards his pitiful expensive watercraft.
