“I see,” Sloan said and nodded his head. He needed to relay how Erika was feeling to Jon. He was getting antsy to leave and give his friend a call.
“By the way, we need to settle up. Will you send me a bill for your services? Here's the address in Jersey. I'll send you a check. You know I really appreciate all you've done for me, Mr. Sloan!” Erika stated as she jotted the address down on the notepaper.
“Much obliged!” Sloan said as he put his hat back on his head and got up from the chair to exit the room. As he turned to walk through the door, he looked back at her. Once again, he shook his head in confusion. The look went unnoticed by Erika. Sloan understood why Jon was attracted to Erika. She was a good-looking, classy, and misdirected woman. He muttered to himself.
