My Stolen Heart

Harpers POV I ran back to our pack house hearing the leaves crunch under my feet. When I get home the door to the living room is open. I enter the house with caution. I soon realize my 20 year old brother is sitting on the ground with his friends playing Call of Duty. I slam the door shut behind me and walk off to my room. I sat on my bed thinking of my future plans. 1) Escape 2) Find a new pack I thought out the plan to escape but was soon interrupted by my door creaking open slowly. My brother Hunter walked in liked he owned the place. I relaxed and pated my bed signaling him to sit down. He came over and sat down with me. “Hey” i said to him “How are you holding up?” He asked me like I was going through something “I’m doing fine. I was just thinking about how to escape” I said to him with a small smirk which he glady returned. “So what’s the plan?” “Well first we wait till around 3 in the morning, because that’s when the fewest guards are on patrol. Then we run like hell” “That sounds like a good plan” he said as I started to stuff my things in a small backpack. He walked away to is room which was connected to mine. I didn’t have lots of things. Only about 3 pairs of shoes, 10 outifits, and my toiletries. I had finished packing my bag when it was dark out. I looked at my clock. It read 1 a.m. I sighed and decided to go to my brothers room. He was laying on his bed staring at the wall. “Don’t fall asleep” I said as I walked over to his bed “Oh I won’t. Trust me” “Ok, cause if you’re asleep I’m leaving you behind” I jokingly said to him. “You wouldn’t last a second without me” “Yeah sure” “Well I’m going to my room make sure all your friends are asleep when we leave. We don’t want them to suspect anything if we are both awake” I said passing his doorway. 2 HOURS LATER I looked over at my clock. It finally read 3 a.m. I made sure my brother was awake and walked downstairs. My backpack wasn’t heavy because of the very few items I owned. I met my brother on the front porch and started our walk into the forrest. Thankfully the woods took up most of our land. It was silent besides the buzz of crickets. When we saw a patrol guard we knew we were close to the end. We slowly crept around the trees and ran like hell was on land. We istantly felt the ties to the pack gone and we knew they would be looking for us. But we had to get out of there. They took us from our family when we were young. We only have pictures of them but it was enough. The next sound that filled our ears were howls. I looked at Hunter with an “oh s**t” look. I picked up my pace because I thought that i heard feet behind me. I ran as fast as my feet wanted to carry me. We reached neutral territory and knew we were going to make it out alive. “I can’t believe we just did that!” Hunter whisper yelled “Me either!” We started walking until we saw this inn next to a pizza shop. We exchanged looks and ran to the smell of pizza. I opened the door to be greeted by the most delicious smell, hot cheese and bread. I ordered a large cheese pizza and paid with my card. I sat down at the first table I saw and noticed someone was staring right at me. “Did I smell funny or look weird to him” I asked myself. I decided to shake it off and wait for my pizza. A young man about my age brought our pizza and gave me a wink and nodded his head toward the bathroom. Which I returned with small smile. I dug into my pizza not thinking about anything but the warm cheese melting on my tastebuds making me moan. The guy that was staring at me stiffened and... growled? I finished my pizza and walked to the bathroom where I was greeted by the young man. He instantly kissed me which I returned and pulled away and slipped a fake number into his pocket. “For later” I said to him with a smirk on my face. He quickly noded and headed back to work. I went to the bathroom and washed my hands.
