Chapter 14 - Mate??

Aiden’s POV

The growl ripples through the air and pulled at my heart strings. I look back down at my bag and sigh. I wish he could just talk to me about it or something. If only he wasn’t so closed off. I get up and walk back to my floor and turn my water on. I slip my hand under the water and wait for it to heat up. Wishing it would burn away the hole in my heart. But of course it couldn’t. I undress and step inside the shower and let the hot water run down my back and face like I’m in a romance movie or something. I stand there just looking down at my feet for a while until I hear loud shots being fired from outside. I step out of the shower and look out the window. I see a girl and that looks exactly like Harper outside.

“MATE!”

“MATE!”

“No it’s not Titus we’re hallucinating”

I step back in the shower when I start hearing screams. Am I going delusional or something? geez. I step out on my balcony with nothing around me and look around not caring who could be looking at me. I see Hunter laying on the ground with blood coming out of his gut. Ok this has got to be real then. I jump off my balcony and shift right before I hit the ground. I landed with a thud because of how weak I was from being without my mate. I smelled her intoxicating scent, bllueberries and whipped cream. I know weird right? Wrong, it’s the most delicious thing you could ever smell. I see her holding a gun and aiming it straight towards me. She shot me a couple of times. I didn’t care though I knew I would heal. She looked straight at me and looked away like I was nothing to her. My heart shattered. She ran away into the forrest deep enough so I couldn’t smell her anymore. I whimpered without her. Even when I was carrying her to the pack doctor I loved her touch. I look over and see Hunter sprawled our on the ground in pain. I look up into the sky and feel like I should cry. My mate has left me and didn’t even notice me at all. She shot her brother and left him like he was useless. The sky started to get gloomy reflecting my mood and I couldn’t hold it back any longer when I smelled Raven. I let it all out I started crying straight in front of him and Hunter. He ran over to me seeing if I was fine and held my hand. I looked deep into his eyes and he made a connection. That the girl who shot us was our mate. He looked up into the dark sky and whined for his mate.
