Chapter 11 Elle's Family

“Would it be okay if your parents came over to see you?” Jax asked me. I know that I have thought about the question a little too long by the look of his face.  I look down and reply “Okay.” He gently grabs my chin and lifts my head up and looks right into my eyes and gently says “I need a yes or no, love. If you are not ready to see them, I will tell them no.” I want to see them, but I don’t know if I will remember them and I don’t want to hurt them like I did Kai. He looked so broken when I told him I didn’t remember him.  I decide that I need to go ahead and get this done with. I look at Jax and reply “ I will see them, but I don’t want them to touch me.” He gives me a small smile and says “Okay, I will let them know. Also, Kai will be coming down here in about 10 mins is that okay?” “That is fine.” I reply. “What is your wolfs name? He asks me. “Her name is Bellona. What is yours?” I reply. “My wolf is Hercules.”  He says back with a small smile. “If you ever need to talk, I am here for you Elle.” He tells me with all seriousness. “Thank You” I meekly reply. Kai walks in very stealthy as to not to disturb our conversation. However, I heard him walking towards the stair earlier and smelt him way before then. “Ughhmm” he clears his throat. “Good Morning Alpha, Elle.” He looks down and says respectfully to the both of us. “Good Morning” Jax and I reply instantaneously.  I look down and blush after realizing what I have down. Hopefully by blushing, they don’t see the fear on my face. I know better than to reply with or before an Alpha. “Elle. It is alright, no need to look down. You are my mate and that makes you equal to me” Jax says gently, raising my chin up to look at him. “Alpha, being your mate would make me a Luna. A Luna is still underneath your rank, which means that I still disrespected you.” I say nervously. “Elle, you did not disrespect me, we are mates and I see you and I as equals. It may be the law that a Luna is still below an Alpha rank. However, I do not see it that way.” He says again very gently. “Alpha, our parents will be here soon.” Kai says to him with a monotone voice. I smell them before they knock on the door. After they are done knocking, Jax goes to the door and lets them in. I choose to sit down at the table, so it is less of a chance that they touch me. Kai takes a seat next to me and says, “They may be a little emotional, they have missed you for a long time.” They come into sight and my mother starts to tear up and grabs the man’s arm that is next to her. I am guessing that he is my father.  Even though I know my mother by her strong maternal smell, I still do not remember anything about her. I know that this couple created my very existence, but I can’t remember anything about them. “Hi, Honey.” My mother says to me as she slowly walking towards the table. They sit down and study me for awhile as I study them. I look over to Jax who is standing in the doorway cautiously watching us. “You look so thin dear. You must be starving. Could I make you something of your favorite.?” My mother gently asks. “I just ate a little while ago, so I okay for now. You can bring something later.” I tell her. She goes to reach for my hand but before she can grab my hand, I yank it back and growl at her.  “I am so sorry dear. I did not mean to frighten you.” She says apologetically. “Ellie, we mean you no harm.” My father says in a soft but gruff voice. “It ‘s okay” I say. This meeting is a little awkward. I do not know what to say to them and I don’t think that they know what to say to me. They end up telling me stories about when I was younger and all the fun things we did. They tell me how they never gave up on finding me and how much that they have missed me. I bid farewell to them and head back up to my room for a little bit before dinner. Jax says dinner will be in about an hour and a half. I decide that a nap would be a good idea.
