The Alpha's Daughter's Mate

"It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long...." my phone alarm was going off playing one of my favorite songs from Kid Rock. I quickly swiped it away and started getting ready for my morning run. Today was just like any other ordinary day, except it was my 17th birthday. Now most of you are probably thinking, " who cares it's only 17.... 1 more year until freedom..." but for me it is a lot different. You see, I come from a long line of, well, werewolves, and on your 17th birthday your inner wolf comes alive and you will hopefully find your mate that day. Unfortunately for me I wasn't too concerned about this little detail of finding my mate because everyone stayed away from me except for Trinity, whom is my one and only best friend and my father's beta's daughter. Thanks to my father, Alpha Trenton, no one comes near me. My father is the Alpha of the Dark Star Pack of Rockenberg. We are the strongest pack in our area according to my father.... but in all reality we are equally as powerful as the Light Moon Pack, our one and only enemy. I suppose I should introduce myself now though. My name is Shelbee Laine. I have light brown hair that hangs down to my lower back and brown eyes that have a ring of orange towards the outside which almost looks like they are on fire. I stand 5'5" and weigh about 125 pounds. I have 2 older sisters. Delylah, who is Luna of the Green Star Pack, and Natylee who is Luna to the Blue Sun Pack. My favorite thing to do is run. it allows me to think or clear my head when needed. As you can see... I am the last remaining heir in my pack after my father. Soon, I will step into his place, with my mate of course, and together we will become Alpha and Luna. But... I have to have a mate in order for that to happen. The sun isn't up yet. It never is up at this time. Since it is my birthday I decided I am going to run down by my favorite lake. Sun Spark is the name of it. At night the lake glitters. It is the most gorgeous thing I've ever laid eyes on. This lake has interesting powers as well and a wolf is only to step foot in it if there is no where else to turn... whatever that means. As I run down the winding path, the beautiful lake comes into view, along my favorite boulder that I lay and watch the sun rise on, and then, something hits me. Hard. I know my new wolf who I only met last night is on high alert... "Shelbee. Someone is here.... I.... *sniff* smell..... *sniff*..... HIM!" - my wolf, Alexis huffs. "What do you mean by HIM?" I ask. But I got no reply. I stop dead in my tracks. A man is sitting shirtless on my boulder that I love to sit on. His skin is like glass under the moonlight. I walk closer to him and I can tell something is wrong. Alexis is nervous, I can feel her shaking. I slowly walk up to the boulder and decide to ask to join him, I mean a little company might be nice right? "Excuse me, sir, may I join you to watch the sun ri....." I begin to ask but the man jumps and turns around so fast he dang near falls off of the rock. To my surprise, it is Luka Shrine, the Prince of the Light Moon Pack.... I wonder why he is in our territory? As I looked him up and down our eyes meet and they locked. I instantly knew why he was here because I felt it as soon as our eyes met. My knees became weak as I fell to the ground feeling faint. I started to sweat and tremble as Luka came to help me up. But as soon as he touched me sparks invaded my whole body. We locked eyes again and at this point I could hear my new wolf scream with excitement.... " MY MATE!"
