Her vision was blurry and as she started to open her eyes the lights in the room blinded her. “Maya… Maya… Maya…” he said. She recognized that voice it was Charles, it was her father’s rather. Maya and her father were not very close. She referred to him as Charles as she felt he was an outsider to her world. Her parents divorced at the tender age of eight and since then she only saw him a couple of days a year. “Maya” she heard a soft voice. He held her hand which felt strange as they were cold as ice. As her eyes begins to focus he sees a young man in his early twenties with soft brown hair, blue eyes a chiseled chin. He was tall at “6’1” who had a fair complexion. Although his hands were cold the smile he gave her warmed her. “Who are you?” She asked. He looked at her confused. “I’m your husband” He exclaimed. She just responded with an even more puzzled look. “I’m sixteen. I’m too young to marry.” She said. “You are nineteen. You got married at eighteen” Charles responded. “She could be suffering from amnesia, with the head trauma she got I wouldn’t be surprised.” The doctor said at edge of the room. “Do you think its permanent dad?” The young man asked. Maya became even more confused. The doctor looked too young to be a doctor much less a father. He looked like he was only in his mid-twenties. “I’m not sure the doctor said. For that we would need to have more tests even then we couldn’t say for certain.” As her sight began to improve she started feeling pain everywhere. She looked at her wrists and there were marks left from being shackled. She looked at her arms and had cuts and bruises all over which is also an indication of how she feels all over her body. “What is going on?” this was all she could think about. What followed after was a series of lab test, one after the other. She was already exhausted and as she dozed off she could hear a whisper “My mate, you’ve come back.”
