Chapter Sixty-FourOur arrival in Camilla's backyard was met with hostile glares and accusatory glances aimed at Camilla. There were more people than I'd expected, at least thirty, with the sound of more coming from the house. To all appearances, this looked like a midnight backyard party, half black-tie, half casual wear, with drinks varying from champagne on flutes to beer and water bottles. The mansion was ablaze with light, people lounging near the kidney-shaped pool, people seated around brass tables arranged to the side, people standing in groups. Laughter came from within the house, but out in the backyard, conversation had stopped the moment we'd dropped from the back wall. There was no question everyone recognized Zantry and me, and I was surprised to find a few faces I recognized.
