Episode 16 - Maki's Real Power

Maki was surprised to see Mr. Aerolith and his daughter, Aera, on the same room as the guild's manager. He did not expect that Mr. Aerolith and the Mr. Lucius to be acquainted and did not know what to do in this current circumstance. Especially, when he saw Aera's smirking face that made Maki think that he's in big trouble.

Maki: Uhh? Nice to meet you all? (awkwardly smiles)

Mr. Lucius: So, you're Mr. Maki Montaire. I heard quite a lot from you from Mr. Aerolith here. Do you know why I called you here?

Maki: Uhm. Because I'm in trouble?

Mr. Lucius: You do have some sense of humor. (looks at Mr. Aerolith and whispers) Is he really the one?

Mr. Aerolith: (also whispers) Yes. It's him. (sigh) Just overlook this kind of behavior. He is serious where it counts.

Mr. Lucius: Fine: I'll trust you on this one. (looks back at Maki again) Strip.

Maki: Wait, what?! I'm sorry, sir. I don't swing that way. You can have Mr. Aerolith, he can satisfy you way more than me.

Aera suddenly pounced at Maki for the stupid remark he said. She was blushing while trying to strangle Maki. Maki was holding Aera's hands like his life was on the line. If Aera overpowers him, he won't live to see tomorrow.

Aera: How dare you tell that to my father in front of me. What's more, you told that shameless thing to the guild's manager. What will you do if you he gets offended and kicks you out, huh? Just stop struggling and be happy that you died by my hands.

Maki: Then, would you have stripped if Mr. Lucius told you to strip in while your father? (still struggling)

Aera's fuse blew off after Maki said this and released her yellow aura. She was slowly overpowering Maki.

Maki: Uhh? Sir? Your daughter's going to end up killing me if this continues.

Mr. Aerolith: HAHAHA! I'm sure you can die happily. After all, you did say you were going to marry her. I was having trouble finding a suitable partner for my princess here and it seems you fit the criteria. Of a punching bag, that is. AHAHAHA

Maki: Oh come on! (also releases his yellow mixed with some orange aura)

Aera: Give up! You're still in the Yellow - Orange Essence - Fifth Stage Peak. I may still be at the Yellow Essence - First Stage which is a little bit of Stage difference, my Essence Color is still stronger than yours. There's no way you can overpower me.

Mr. Lucius: (talks to Mr. Aerolith) If this goes on, my office will be destroyed. I know you're rich so I won't be asking any money as damage fee. I'll be taking from your valuables if anything gets destroyed.

Mr. Aerolith: Relax. You wanted proof, right? Just wait and see.

Maki: Grrrrr! Fine. You asked for this. (auro becomes completely yellow)

Mr. Lucius: What the Nani?!

Mr. Aerolith: See? (smirks proudly)

Maki's aura suddenly became completely yellow. Aera was caught off guard by the sudden change in Maki's aura and was pushed back. This time Maki was on top of her and she's the one struggling. Aera became scared that she was going to lose again to Maki. Not just in combat experience but also in Essence Color advancement. She was about to give up but Maki suddenly stopped.

Aera: What? Why did you stop?

Maki: I've run out of energy. (pants) I'm tired. (pants) I'm going to rest.

Aera: Then that means.

Mr. Aerolith: Stop now, dear. Mr. Lucius has seen enough.

Aera: But?

Mr. Aerolith: Now, now. Don't be too hard on him. You don't want to beat up a powerless lad, right? That would make us a bully.

Aera: But? Ugh! Fine. I'm going home. (walks out)

Mr. Aerolith: Your license will be sent to you later. Please be at home to receive it.

Aera: I know! (slams door)

Mr. Lucius: Oh, glass cracked! You owe me now! AHAHA!

Mr. Aerolith: (sigh) Kids. (looks at Maki) You can stop the acting now.

Maki: Is she gone?

Mr. Aerolith: Want me to call her back?

Maki: Err. No thanks. (gets up)

Mr. Lucius: Hmmm. Fascinating.

Mr. Lucius approached Maki so fast that it seemed like Mr. Lucius teleported. This caught Maki off guard and made him take a step back.

Maki: What? Fascinating? Fascinating what? I mean what fascinating? I mean, wait, what?

Mr. Lucius: Truly a marvel. How did you change your aura color like that? Don't tell me you were able to advance your Essence Color through that small squabble and without even triggering a Tribulation Ascension?

Mr. Aerolith: You really have grown rusty old man. Don't tell me you can't even feel it?

Mr. Lucius: Feel it? Feel what? (suddenly notices something) Wait, this feeling? This weirdly familiar feeling even though this is the first time I've felt it. This is!

Mr. Aerolith: Yep.

Mr. Lucius: What is this?

Maki and Mr. Aerolith fell down because of the hype that Mr. Lucius built up only to say he didn't know what it was.

Maki: Are you kidding me right now? I thought you knew!

Mr. Aerolith: Old man, seriously?! Are you seriously telling me you don't know?

Mr. Lucius: HAHAHA! I'm just kidding with you. You youngsters are really gullible.

Mr. Aerolith: Oh yeah? Then what is it that you felt then?

Mr. Lucius. If I tell you, you won't believe me.

Mr. Aerolith: Just say it already!

Mr. Lucius: Fine. Isn't this feeling from the one from long, long time ago?

Mr. Aerolith: Keep going.

Mr. Lucius: The feeling that everyone feels. That even though it is the first time that they felt it but feels somehow familiar yet mysterious. That when you feel this, the hair all over your body seems to stand up.

Mr. Aerolith: Yep. So you really do know.

Mr. Lucius: Of course I know the feeling of wanting to go to the bathroom, you i***t! It's my body! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom. (goes to the bathroom that is in his office)

Maki and Mr. Aerolith fell down again from the same reason. They thought Mr. Lucius really knew what it was. Maki and Mr. Aerolith waited for about an hour before Mr. Lucius came out.

Mr. Lucius: Whew! You don't want to go in there or your nose will experience hell.

Mr. Aerolith: Why the hell do you take one hour to take a dump?! How long have you been holding it in, you damned old man!

Mr. Lucius: Woah, there. No need to be feisty. I need my privy time too, you know? Being a branch manager ain't easy.

Mr. Aerolith: And so am I. I had to cancel all my appoints today because of this. And it seems like you really don't know what it is, so I'll explain it to you.

Mr. Lucius: No need. This boy possesses the Goddess's Sigil, am I right?

Mr. Aerolith: Damn it old man! Why are you even doing this?! Are you a fricking kid, you old oaf!

Mr. Lucius: I just needed a valid excuse for taking a dump. Come on, chill. You look way more older than me now.

Mr. Aerolith: Arggggg! Fine since you know now. I'll be going ahead. Just by staying here is raising my blood pressure. (leaves immediately) Good luck, boy.

Mr. Lucius: That man really couldn't take a joke. He can't even notice that it's because of him that his daughter is like that. (sigh) Really, kids these days.

Maki: Uhh?

Mr. Lucius: Ah, right. Sorry you had to take part on my little prank, boy.

Maki: It's okay, sir. It was kind of fun watching the strict-looking Mr. Aerolith blow off like that. I can at least have some fun with him now.

Mr. Lucius: Do not chew more than you can eat, boy. Or you'll choke to death. (a proverb that means, don't overstep your bounds, or you might never be able to bear the consequences)

Maki: Huh? I thought you knew that I had the Goddess's Sigil?

Mr. Lucius: Of course I knew. What are you talking about.

Maki: (sigh) Fine. I guess I'll show it to you since I have this weird feeling that I'll be needing your help in the future. Put out one of your fingers please.

Mr. Lucius: (puts out his left pointing finger) What are you going to do with it?

Maki: I'll break it with a flick of my finger.

Mr. Lucius: AHAHAHAHA! You seriously think that you can break my finger with just a flick? A flick from a Yellow - Orange Essence - Fifth Stage Peak?

Maki: So you saw right through what I did earlier.

Mr. Lucius: Of course I did. I'm one of the few Silver - Gold Essence in the world. A mere Yellow - Orange Essence boy like you can't possibly trick me.

Maki: (smiles) Well, want to make a bet with me?

Mr. Lucius: Hoh? Seems you have some unnecessary confidence there, boy. What do you want?

Maki: If I can break your finger with a single flick, you will help me with anything I want starting tomorrow. Of course, I won't overstep my bounds as to request you to give me the guild's manager role. I know my place. Just help me with what happens from now on.

Mr. Lucius: And if you lose?

Maki: You can do what you like to me. Sell me, sell my organs, become your butler, whatever you like. Oh and I'll give you a handicap. You can focus all of your power into your finger to make it sturdy. I don't want to hear any excuses when you lose.

Mr. Lucius: I guess Mr. Aerolith was mistaken about you. You're one hell of a cocky brat.

Maki: Just answer the question. Deal or no deal?

Mr. Lucius: Fine. Deal. But let's not do it here. If I release my full power, I'll end up destroying everything here.

Maki: Sure. We can go somewhere safe with no people.

Maki and Mr. Lucius immediately arrived at an inhabited island many miles away from their original location. Mr. Lucius became shocked because even he is not able to move from one place to another instantaneously. Much more so with this kind of distance. Mr. Lucius became a little bit shaken because Maki was really serious about what he said earlier. And so without any reservation, he released his full power. Shaking the whole island, cracking its mountains, causing the birds to fly hysterically and knocking out the other beasts that inhabited the island.

But, as soon as Mr. Lucius saw Maki. Cold sweat immediately went out from his body. What he felt from Maki was not a Yellow - Orange Essence - Fifth Stage Peak but a power entirely different kind of power. And again the power that Maki gave off still felt familiar to him. The feeling that is akin to a parent and child. Except, Mr. Lucius was the child in front of Maki. Mr. Lucius then noticed that Maki had already removed the Hanky Seal that Mr. Aerolith told him and the Goddess's Sigil was once again set free to feel the world. Mr. Lucius then realized that it was not because of his aura that the island shook, the cracking of mountains, made the birds fly hysterically, and knocked out the beasts inhabiting the island. But it was because of Maki's tremendous power. Mr. Lucius' legs grew weak and started to tremble as he was having a hard time breathing from Maki's pressure. Maki then approached him slowly and said.

Maki: Stick out your finger please, sir.

Mr. Lucius: (sticks out his finger and puts all of his power to his finger to strengthen it) What are you? (slightly tremble voice)

Maki: I'm God's Incarnation. (flicks Mr. Lucius' finger)
