Geneva and Allen immediately looked over, and except for Allen, the three adults froze instantly at that very moment their eyes met.
Allen smiled seeing the two men coming over. He rose on his feet and welcomed them. "You guys are finally back. How long will the two of you stay in the comfort room? Are you planning to treat the comfort room at your house? You guys are fine, right? You are not suffering from something, right?"
Silence occurred around them. None of the two men even bothered to answer him.
"What's going on? Why does everybody ignore me? No one wants to talk to me? Allen asked in a teasing manner. Still gain no response from them. "Hey, something is off with these two."
Allen followed their line of sight and a proud smile formed on his lips right away after realizing where the two men were actually looking.
Allen huddled in between them and wrapped his arms around their shoulders. "What? Are you dazzled by her? Mesmerized by her beauty? That's my close closer closest friend, Geneva. How is she? So lovely right?"
"She is outstandingly beautiful." Jasper uttered without reluctance. His eyes were sparkling with admiration as he stared at the woman. "So beautiful. Allen, I never knew you had such a pretty friend on your side."
Hearing his compliment, of course, Geneva smiled at him and smiled followed by thanking him casually.
However, from the two of them, the other man didn't say anything. He just stared at Geneva, as if he had seen a ghost. In fact, worse than a ghost.
Allen waved his hand close to the man's face and slightly shouted at his ear. His voice was obviously teasing them. "Hey, what's wrong with you, Jerry? You have been in a daze since you came. What's wrong? Scared of her beauty? Don't tell me, such a playboy man like you, actually scared of such beauty? What? Are you afraid that you will fall completely for her?"
Jerry ignored his teasing and coldly told him something else. "You didn't tell us about this earlier. Why?"
"Surprise! Come on, should I tell you first who she is or should I tell you first who came?" Allen shut Jasper an inquiry glance only to receive a shrug and 'I don't know' face from him.
"Forget it. Let's just come over." Funning himself by pulling his clothes, Jerry walked over to the table before everyone. He just sat opposite of Geneva. Neither sparing her a glimpse nor introducing himself to her. He completely shut himself in his own world. He acted as if he had not seen her.
Geneva also did not mind him. Since the man did not want to talk to her, for her, then be it. She instead entertained Jasper right away. "Lieutenant, what a coincidence. You're also here."
"What a coincidence indeed." Jasper returned her smile and sat next to Jerry while Allen sat next to Geneva. "It's been a while, how are you?"
"You know each other?" Allen asked, intrigued.
"Yeah. We met each other the day Little Love was almost kidnapped." Geneva replied. "Lieutenant Jasper is the one who helped us."
"What a coincidence."
"Then, how about you guys? How did you know each other?"
"Auh, it's a long story. Let's talk about something else." Allen knocked the table. "Jerry, what's wrong? If you don't speak, I will mistook you as a mute person. Become mute in front of a beauty suddenly?"
"Don't mind me." Jerry said. "Treat me as if I am not here. I don't want to talk."
"Eh, that's not right. Weren't you the one who is so enthusiastic to meet my girl friends? Why did you suddenly change your attitude?" Allen frowned? He again knocked the table. "Come clean. What happened? The way you behave is not normal. Don't tell me you and Geneva also knew each other?"
"Nonsense! Such a woman, I don't deserve to meet her."
"Is that so?" Allen raised a brow. He looked at Jerry indifferently. "Then why are you acting weird in front of her? From what I know about you, seeing such a beauty, you can't even wait to know her. Why are you not following your script now? Unless, there is something happening between you two. Hey, tell us, are you trying to impress her? Wanting to show her that you are not interested to women, especially to women as great as her"
Allen ran his suspicious gaze back and forth at Geneva and Jerry. Only to notice the odd gaze of Jerry towards Geneva while the latter pretended she did not see anything and drank a sip of wine. Jerry's one hand clenched on the glass that he held.
"Is there really something going on between you two?" Allen leaned on the table and showed how eager he was to know the inside story. "Tell us the story between you two. You both are my close friends. You can't be fighting right?"
"You are thinking too much. I'm busy every day. Where do I have time to argue with someone?" Geneva answered? "He just doesn't want to socialize. He is loyal to you only. No need to force him., right, Lieutenant?"
"Auh, perhaps. Perhaps." Jasper put an awkward smile on his lips. He kept his smile in front of Geneva but his fist knocked on Jerry's thigh.
"Auh, what are you doing?" Jerry shut Jasper a scary glare after a groan. He rose on his feet and said, "Want a fight?"
"Auh, relax. Relax. Let's not fight tonight, okay." Allen immediately stood up and came over to stop them. He wrapped his arms around their shoulders and patted them, "Jerry, how long have we known each other? Don't just ask for a fight casually. Jasper is a police officer and so he has such excellent self-control. But you are different, I can understand you. However, asking a fight all of a sudden doesn't seem right, right? We are friends. We are just teasing you. No need to burst in rage right? Tell me. What is going on with you? When you arrive earlier, this is not how you behave."
Jerry took a deep breath and patted both Allen and Jasper on their backs. And sat back on his spot as if nothing just happened. "Allen, Jasper, I am not in a mood. Just don't mind me. You guys can talk. But don't include me in."
Allen nodded resignedly. "Alright. I won't force you if you don't want to join us. Take your time to eat by yourself."
Saying that, Allen shook his head and sat back next to Geneva.
Geneva scooped some food and placed them on Little Love's food. "Here darling, eat some. Today is your cousin's birthday. Surely, the food is all delicious. Try them."
The kid looked up on her, blinked his eyes adoringly, and nodded.
"How obedient." Geneva happily ruffled the kid's hair. Seeing that everyone only had their eyes on her, she couldn't help but speak. "Why are you guys not eating? Come on, the food is getting cold. Let's begin eating."
"Right. Right. Right." Allen placed his elbow on Geneva's shoulder. "This beautiful close friend of mine is right. We should not let the food wait for us. It should be us who will eat the food. So, now, let's dig in."
"So, you guys also become friends because of this little adorable kid?" Jasper asked.
"No. We know each other abroad." Allen answered
