CHAPTER 1 - MISTY MOON
CHAPTER I MISTY MOON
“What the fvck?”
I'm not sure how many curse words I uttered, but damn! I'm exhausted, and all I could see were huge grass, trees, and those terrifying forests. I'm not sure where they'll take me, but I kept falling due to the uneven road and the lack of houses on the route we were on.
I cursed again when I bumped into the roof of the car. “Do you even know where we are going? This place is secluded. What the hell is this place anyway? Does anyone else live in a place like this?” I complained again to our driver.
“We are on the right track, Miss Ava. This is what your Daddy and I went through, so I can't be wrong because we've been through it several times,” he explained.
“Wtf! Even signal? Is there nothing I can do in their place? It's shocking! I don't know that there’s still a place in the world that has not been reached by society. Tell Daddy I'm going home.”
But to my dismay, he had already announced that we had arrived. I look at the place where the car stopped. It’s one of your big houses that seems to have been uninhabited for years. When I opened the window on my side at the same time a strong wind blew and the sound of branches and the birds flying that hovered around.
“Is this the place where I would live? I don’t think I can live here,” I whispered as the door on my side opened.
“I'm not going inside, Miss Ava. The one who will pick you up is coming out. I will just let your father know that you arrived here at the mansion safely,” he said before leaving.
I don’t know how long I’ve been standing here in front of the big gate. I'm tired but I don't want to open it because I might get tetanus due to the amount of rust on the metal. I turned around and surveyed the dark surroundings. All I can see are huge trees and grass around and only a few light poles illuminate the road.
I wonder how people live here.
I want to call my dad today and ask him to take me home, but I know he won't answer me. I know he won’t pick me up because he is the one who sent me to this place.
I looked at the gate when it opened and an elderly woman came out. Her hair is almost white like the woman behind her. A wheelchair behind her where another elderly woman is also sitting but I can still see her elite posture and demeanor. I can sense a strong and dominant aura from her that I don't want to encounter.
"Good to see you again, Avalon Keith!"
I winced at Aunt Connie calling my full name. "Good evening, Miss Ava! Welcome to Misty Moon!" greetings from Aunt Connie’s assistant make me roll my eyes.
I really don't like formalities. I don't like being told because I feel like I'm too slow to think on my own. But when I heard what Aunt Connie said to greet them, I could do nothing but follow and greet them as well.
I really hate her.
I hate that she overpowered me no matter how bitchy I am.
I want to go home right now since I'm already crying from the weight of the luggage I'm carrying and the gate is too far away from the main entrance of the house. They didn't even have a servant to assist me with my luggage. I just want to go home and cry at my Dad for letting me do what I want.
If it was not for that b***h, I wouldn’t be here right now. Once I leave this place, I will surely, flock her hair until she gets bald.
“Stop mumbling, Avalon, and walk!”
I am not mumbling.
I just want to complain about how I ended up here. But I didn't have a choice, so I followed them both unwillingly because there was nothing I could do. Aunt Connie is the queen of this house, so no matter what I do, she will remain the law. I have no choice but to do all she tells me to do.
I can now imagine the life I would spend with these ladies.
A life that I really wouldn't miss if I left this place.
