Chapter three

1278 Words
It took me around a couple of minutes to find a good place to park my bike, yet I ended up parking in a tight single spot. f**k those boys,f**k those jerky assholes. With a sour and grumpy mood I stomp through the school doors into the halls. As I pushed open the doors the once noisy halls immediately quiet down as everyone turn their heads to me. I ignore their looks and whispers and make my way to the principal's office. "Who is she?" A girl whispers to who seems to be her friend. "I don't know, maybe she's new." "Oh,nice outfit though." The girl says sarcastically and laughs with her friend. I stop in my tracks and glance at them with hooded eyes. I chuckle lightly then continued walking. I continued walking forward until I found the principal's office which was easy to find because it was clearly written above the door and it seems to be the only room in the middle of the long hall. I knock on the door then head inside when I heard a stiff 'come in'. I look around the room and spot a short lady behind a counter, filled with stacks of paper on ever side, burying her head in a computer. In front of her is a line of uncomfortably looking metal chairs. "Name." She asks me without looking up from the screen. "Jessica Overt, new student." I answer without much concern. She glances at me then looks back at the screen. I didn't really care about what she thought as I looked around the room once again. There is a door right next to her counter, probably should be the principal's office. "Miss Overt, yes?" The lady brings my attention back to her. "I believe I mentioned that a minute ago." I roll my eyes as I replied. "I preferred if you don't get smart with me,miss Overt." She says without a change in her expression but her tone seemed more stiff. She looks at least 30 years old yet acts like someone in her 50's. 'I guess the stress of working can turn anybody into that.' After that it went silent except for the sound of the air conditioner running and the clicking of the lady's keyboard. "Okay, miss Overt. Mr Curtis isn't around presently due to an occasion that needed his attention, but everything you need has been prepared in advance." As she said that she handed me two sheets of paper, one containing my class schedule and the other with my locker combination and information of my specific subject teachers, their names and classes they use. "If they are any questions or inconveniences please feel free to come back here and report to me." I look through the papers again then back to the lady. I fold the papers then stuff into my bag. "Thank you,miss..." "Miss Gladys." "Miss Gladys." I nod my head then turn to head out of the door. Once I got out the door I try to look for my locker while ignoring the amounts of eyes and chatters trailing me. 'Don't they know when they're being annoying?' I frown as their noises assault my ears. I look at the numbers on the locker as I walk past them only stopping once I finally see the one assigned to me. I study the locker finding nothing special about it,except from the number 194 engraved on it it's painted royal blue just like the rest. After punching in the combination I open the locker and poured the item in my bag into it. Leaning on the locker next to mine I look through the paper containing my schedule for the day. "English first? Well, that's something new." I push myself off the locker and grab what I needed for the class and place them in bag. "Guys, guys." A boy in a beanie runs into the hall panting. The whole hall goes quiet as everyone turns to the boy. "Greg?" Another boy walks up to the boy and places his hand on his back. "What's up? Are you okay?" "There's...a...fight." He manages to squeeze out. The whole hall breaks out into a series of whispers and mummers as soon as he said 'fight'. I roll my eyes at them. 'Ugh,what's with the drama? Aren't fights a typical thing in highschool?' "Everyone, quiet." The boy beside Greg shouts. Greg manages to regain his composure then yells to the crowd. "Felix and Jackson are fighting in the East hall." Greg points to the hallway by his left, which is coincidentally where I'm standing. Another series of whispers and mummers fills the hall. "Isn't it the fourth time this week?" "Yeah, and it's only Tuesday." "Who cares, lets go see." "Yeah, lets go it could be interesting." I move out of their way as they full on stampeded into the direction of the fight. I was the only one left in the hall as they all rushed there pushing and pulling each other in the process. "Animals." I frown at them. I close my locker and trace after them. I look around the hall stopping when I saw the words "Leonard Academy, home of the wildcats". I scoff at the name then continued on my way. I finally reached the end of the hall and saw a large crowd of people surrounding something. "Ooh." I raise an eyebrow when the majority let that out. I walked closer and closer to take a look at what they were watching, through the sea of heads I manage to see the forms of the two fighters. "Hey look,Stacy,it's that girl again." I heard the girl beside me whisper to her friend. They were the two girls who made fun of my outfit earlier. "Oh." They both start giggling as soon as she sees me. I ignore them as I continue to stare at the fight without much emotion but I still rolled my eyes at them. 'Just barely an hour in this new school and I've rolled my eyes so much I'm starting to have an headache, only a couple more and it's gonna get stuck up there.' "Um,hey I love your outfit." The girl Stacy said to me. I turn to her and saw a cynical smile on her face. "Thanks." I didn't pay much attention to her and turned back to the fight. "I guess rags count as a fashion statement." She mumbles to her friend and they start laughing like a couple of hyenas. I cringe at the sound. 'There goes my hearing.' "I love your IQ,though." I turn to her with hooded eyes. "Huh?" They both stop laughing and turn to me. "I guess being as dumb as a brick counts as an achievement." I eye her as I said that. "Just a couple more decades and you could be as bright as the ass of a baboon." I smile at her then turn to leave, enjoying the fact that her face had indeed turned red in anger. 'I guess she doesn't have to wait after all.' I chuckle then turned to find a clearer spot to see the fight.
