Chapter 2- Drifted to shore

Honolulu, Hawaii

Rina Martinelli, Phevy's sister, was watching the TV at their hotel when a breaking news of an airplane crash was reported.

*Breaking News*

An airplane exploded after experiencing technical issues. The plane was one of the aircrafts of Cloud Airlines. Its flight number was 5JE 6318 bound to Honolulu, Hawaii. No one survived the accident including 10 flight attendant, Captain Jo Borges, and his Assistant Captain Denise Smith.

The bodies of the passengers were found except for 4 missing bodies who were; Jacynth Cruise, Divine Pierce, Joy Mel Wei, and Phevy Martinelli. The search for the 4 missing bodies is still on going. That's all for this morning stay tune for further news. This is BBW news have a great day.

Florina couldn't believe what she had heard. She immediately grabbed her phone and saw the message of Phevy.

Florina thank you for being an amazing sister. I really treasured those precious times that we have. I love you so much and congratulations for tomorrow. Don't cry and walk in the isle proud and happy. I love you so much.❤️

Florina was shocked that she ended up crying. She immediately called her parents.

(phone ringing)

"Mom! Dad!" she said sobbing.

"We know honey, we know. We don't know if they are still alive but the least we can do is hope and pray that they are still ok. The rescue team are on their way to search the missing bodies. All we can do is wait patiently." Her dad's voice was shaking but firm.

"O-ok... I'll just watch the news. Please call me if you get some updates. Bye love you!" Florina ended the call and called Noah. She then told him the bad news.

"Hello? Who's this?" A deep voice asked.

"Noah! This is Florina. Noa-" Rina then burst into tears.

"Rina are you still there? Hello? Why are you crying? Did something happened? Did John hurt you?" Noah asked worriedly.

"I-its not l-like t-th-that. Ph-phevy is-" Rina said while sobbing.

"Phevy is what?" Noah asked impatiently.

"Phevy i-is g-gone. Phevy is gone Noah!"

" Oh come on Rina this isn't the time to tell jokes. You're just joking right?" His voice was shaking hoping that it is all just a prank.

"I-i'm telling th-" suddenly Noah interrupted.

"Wait a second Rina... I'll hang up first and I'll just call you later ok?" He said and ended the call.

?NOVY'S DINER

"Boss! Come quick! You need to see the news. Hurry!" One of the waiters shouted.

"What's wrong?" Puzzled, Noah went outside to the dining area.

After the news everyone was silent. Another breaking news occured about 2 ship accidents but Noah didn't care about the things that are happening due to shock of the unexpected news. He decided to go to Phevy's house. While driving he received a voice message from Phevy.

Phevyboo: *the passengers voices panicking* " hey big boy it's me your baby boo. Thank you for showing me your love and support throughout the years. To be honest I'm really excited for our wedding *sob* but I guess it will not be happening. Please take care of yourself, don't skip meals, and take good care of our diner. I think the plane will cra- *thud*

After hearing the voice message from Phevy, thoughts of regret flooded his mind. He couldn't believe that the girl he is going to marry was gone. He regretted everything; for not spending time with her, for being cold to her, for leaving her alone to travel all by herself, and for not being there to protect her when she needed him the most. Tears flowed in his eyes while driving and wished that everything that is happening is just a bad nightmare.

?Phevy's House

Noah entered the house and saw their pictures together and their happy memories in that house. This made him burst into tears until he noticed a letter on top of the dining table. He immediately grabbed it and silently reads the letter.

I know you will go here. I wish that you can go with me to Hawaii and spend a little bit of quality time their together. Actually, I imagined us surfing on big waves and watching the sunset together . How I wish you could go with me. Anyways I will be going to the airport now and incase you can't contact me just call my sister. The tailor said my wedding gown was already done soooo we can select our wedding cake next week when I arrive back. To be honest I'm super duper excited and I can't wait to be called MRS. PHEVYLYN WHEELER. I'll miss you soo much my big boy! Remember that I love you so much. See you the soonest! Take care of yourself while I'm away ok? Mwah❤️

The letter was filled with tears and as Noah red every single word, it was like that his heart was stabbed many many times. How he wished that he went with her and be there to protect her until her last breath. After crying endlessly he folded the letter and tucked it gently in his pocket. After that he spend the night crying at Phevy's room.

Morning came and Noah decided to go to Hawaii to attend the wedding to fill the absence of Phevy. He packed his things and booked a flight going to Hawaii. When he arrived, Rina was surprised to see him.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I'm here to attend the wedding of course. Besides I'm your future brother in law too!" He said and winked at Rina.

"Oh you silly guy! How come that you'll be my so-called future brother-in-law when my sister's already gone?" Rina said sadly.

" Oh come on. Don't lose hope, they didn't even found any evidences that she's already dead. Cheer up and have high hopes ok?" Noah said trying to give Rina hope.

"Ok"

Then Mr. and Mrs. Martinelli arrived and was surprised to see Noah.

"Oh! Noah? You're here also? We thought you're busy with work?" they asked in shock.

"Hi mister and missus Marti-"

" Please call us mom and dad ok?"

"Oh s-sorry. I cancelled some of my schedules to attend the wedding of Rina. I'm sorry for not being there for your daughter." He said in a low, sad tone.

"Well it's going to be a big day tomorrow so we need to be happy ok? Wherever our daughter will may be, if she is alive I'm sure she'll survive. Now, Rina you need to have your beauty rest." Mr. Martinelli said.

"Ok dad." Rina said and handed the room key to Noah before heading to her room.

The next day everybody was busy. Everyone was preparing for the wedding ceremony.

May I please call the attention of all the participants. Please proceed here at the back for the reccessional. Thank you.

Now let us all stand for the entrance of the bride.

Florina was so beautiful that everyone was in awe. Florina smiled happily. She saw Noah raising a thumbs up for her and encouraged her to smile. Florina said their vows to each other.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." the pastor declared.

Emcee:

And now let us welcome Mr. and Mrs. John and Florina Campitelli. We will be having our closing prayer by the pastor, we will be having our picture taking, then we will proceed to the reception.

After the wedding, Florina and John had their honeymoon. Noah went back to the diner and continued his business. Everything went back to normal except that Phevy was gone.

After the accident, Phevy and Jacynth was drifted by the ocean into an unknown island. In the other hand the only 3 survivors of the missing ships found refuge also in the island after 42 hours soaked in sea water.

*I'm very weak... What happened?* questions struck the mind of Phevy.

She stood up and saw Jacynth laying down unconsciously. She tried to revive her but everything was too late. She was no longer warm. So using her remaining strength, she buried her at a nice and safe place. After that she fainted and saw people running towards her.

"Where am I? Help!" She faintly whispered and everything went dark.

2 men are almost 45 hours soaked in sea water and are ready to accept their fate that they are going to die. Not until they saw an island a few kilometers aways from them. On their way to the island, they saw another guy struggling to reach also the island. They immediately helped him and the 3 of them paddled together until they reached the island safely.

"Thank you for helping me." a brown mascular guy said while panting. "I'm almost dying and I'm ready to give up that time when you guys saw me."

"Your welcome... Look! There is another person there!" a tall thin guy said pointing at Phevy's direction. "Maybe it's another survivor. Let's go and help her."

When they saw Phevy fainted, they immediately rushed towards her.

"Miss are you ok?" the big moreno guy asked. "Maybe she's so exhausted an-"

"What?" the tall guy said impatiently.

" Oh no! Her head! It was badly wounded. We need to bring her to a safe place and treat her wound as soon as possible." The big moreno guy demanded.

They carried her and found a cave a few meters away. They investigated the place if it's safe and decided that it will be their temporary home for that day. They placed her on a flat rock and began cleaning her wounds with some herbs. The other guy gathered firewood to make them warm. After that, they caught some fish at the swamp near them and grilled it. After eating, they saw Phevy making small movements and one of them went to check her. She woke up and faintly asked him where they were. He gestured her to sit with them and he will tell her what happened. Cautiously Phevy went down and took a sit near the fire.

"Do you want some?" the tall guy asked, handing to her the fish.

"Oh yes. Thank you!" she accepted the food and ate it hungrily.

"Well, let's introduce ourselves shall we?" the big guy said.

"I'll go first!" Phevy said while eating. " I'm Phevylyn Martinelli. I was going to Hawaii to attend my sister's wedding but unfortunately due to some unexpected circumstances the plane that I was riding crashed and my companions died. 2 of them got burned and the other one lost all her blood."

" You're Phevy?" the big guy asked.

"Yes why?"

"Don't you remember me? It's me Eddy, Edward Fonseca!"

It took a minute for Phevy to remember Eddy.

"Eddy? Omg it's been years! Your so big guy now!" Phevy said while playfully punching his big muscles.

"So guys, as you can see I'm Edward Fonseca and luckily, I escaped the bombing at our boat. Some pirates invaded it and killed all the crews including the captain. And they took us hostage for several days. I found a way to escape with a friend but sadly he didn't made it." Edward said sadly. "How about the two of you? Introduce yourselves."

"I'm Vincent de Benedicto and this is my friend Travis Anderson. We are actually going back home from a business trip. We didn't took the plane because all flights are cancelled due to an upcoming storm. Our ship sank when the lightning struck our ship. Jadi and I swam for 48 hours until we saw the island." Vincent explained

"Wait wait wait... You're Vincent right? And you must be.... Hmmm.... Jadi? And the two of you went to EagleCrest Elementary School right?" Edward asked in excitement.

"Yes? But how did you know?" Vincent asked confused.

"Oh come on I attended my 1st and 2nd grade at EagleCrest and we're all classmates remember?" Edward said.

".... Wait.... Edward?..... Ed-...... Eddy?!" Vincent finally remembered. " What's up man! It's been years! How are u? Your a big guy now huh?"

"I am indeed!" Edward said giving Vincent a hug. "How about you? Do you remember us?" he asked Jadi.

"I'm sorry but to be honest, I don't remember you guys" Jadi said in embarrassment.

"You can't recognize her?" Vincent asked pointing at Phevy. "She was your best friend when we are little you know."

"No... not at all! I really can't remember."

Phevy was shocked! Why can't her best friend recognize her? Was it because they didn't have communication for a long long time? Thoughts and questions arose in her head.

"I think I'll go ahead and sleep. My head hurts a little bit." She said and headed to her place to sleep.

While lying down, trying to sleep, she felt sadness and loneliness. She longer to be at home comfortably sleeping in her bed. How she wished to see her sister walk on the aisle, she imagined herself and Noah picking their wedding cake, making their invitation cards, most of all she imagined herself being the wife of Noah. She cried silently all night until she fell asleep.

Phevy woke up early in the morning to find some food for them to eat. She saw some berries and fruits at the near forest. While walking back, she saw a dwarf coconut tree with 4 coconuts so she planned to ask the boys to get the coconut for them to drink. When she arrived at the cave, the boys are still sleeping soundly.

"Rise and Shine! Good morning boys! Wake up sleepy heads, there are alot of things that we need to do today."

"Ughrrrr! I don't want to wake up. It's still early!" Vincent whined.

"I'm still sleepy"

"Me too!"

"Come on! Wake up!!! We need to eat now ok? I'm hungry!" Phevy demanded.

"Ok ok... I'm awake now! Just chill ok?" Vincent said yawning.

Vincent and Edward took the 4 coconuts and brought them to the cave.

"Hey Phevy! Please don't go to the forest just alone by yourself ok? We don't know this place yet and we are not even familiar about this island." Edward warned.

"Ok I won't do it again."

After finishing their food, they decided to investigate and explore the island. When they went to the forest, unfamiliar plants that was not even imagined by some people. Deep in the forest, a big old tree stood tall and firm. It was beside the little waterfalls and it looks like a willow tree except it's leaves are different.

"I think it's a good place to build a tree house up there for the mean time." Edward said pointing at the big tree. "Let's go and see if the tree is safe."

They went to the tree and found out that it is safe. But when Phevy went at the back side of the tree, she saw human skulls and bones. She was terrified and was pale like she saw a ghost. She told her companions of what she saw and Edward examined the place.

"Some people had been here before us. Maybe they are scientists who explored the place because there's a white lab gown (blazer). But I don't think they died because of starvation since their are many fruits here." Edward explained. Suddenly she noticed some footprints. "I think some one killed them... They were killed by a...........

BLACK JAGUAR

Edward saw a Black Jaguar, few feet away from them. He slowly moved backwards, Waring the others to keep silent and to stay close.

When they are close to each other Edward said,"We need to go back to the cave as soon as possible."

"But why?" Phevy asked confused.

Suddenly the ravenous beast pounced at the front of their feet, growling as if it is very, very hungry. Without hesitation, Edward whispered....

"Run!"

Then everyone fled for their dear life. The jaguar was too fast and caught Edward because he can't run fast due to his injured leg. Jadi suddenly noticed that Edward was struggling to get away from the Jaguar so, he went behind, grabbed husband pocket knife and slit the throat of the beast.

Edward thanked Jadi for saving his life again and they all went back to the cave. When they arrived, Vincent already made a little bonfire for them to keep warm at the cave. Then, they had their breakfast.

While eating Phevy got a brilliant idea.

" What if we'll build a house at the big tree? Besides, there are alot of bamboos and other trees that grow in here."

"That's a good suggestion but, we don't have carpentry tools to build it." Vincent said.

"My suitcase! I have nails, a hammer, a saw, and an ax there." Phevy said.

"Wow! Who in the world would bring carpentry tools to her sister's wedding?" Jadi smirked.

"Jadi!" Vincent warned.

"What? It's a fact bro."

"Actually my sister asked me to bring her stuffs to Hawaii. She will be permanently staying in Hawaii and she requested me to bring it." Phevy explained.

Phevy was about to get up and get her suitcase at the seashore when Edward insisted.

"Get your suitcase tomorrow. It's dangerous at night" he warned.

"Ok"

"So Phevy what's your work?" Vincent asked.

"I'm a Pathologist in ProHealth Hospital. How about you?"

"I'm an architect and I own a furniture shop." He said.

"How about you Edward?" Phevy asked.

"I'm a private investigator, an army, and recently I got ordained as a minister."

"Wow! But why did you quit the army though?" Vincent asked in curiosity.

"I didn't quit the army", Edward pointed his left leg,"this one is an artificial leg. I was hit by abgranade at war and luckily only my left leg was hit. But to be honest it was really badly wounded and the doctors decided to cut it off. I had no choice but to let go of my left leg and that's when they decided to give me an early retirement. At first I had a hard time adjusting to my life without my left leg since I'm still young when I lost my leg (24 years old) but thankfully some friends gave me this artificial leg. That's when I grew closer to God and decided to be a pastor. I was actually ordained last month." He explained.

"Congratulations!" Phevy said and gave Edward a thumbs up. "How about you Jadi?"

"Uhmmm... I'm a neurosurgeon in a local hospital." He said shyly.

"Sooo do you guys have girlfriends or are you guys married or something?" Phevy asked.

"I'm married and had two sons" Vincent said.

"I'm single but I'm courting a girl at church." Edward said.

"I had a girlfriend but..." He paused for awhile."our relationship was complicated. When we are with her friends she flirted around with other boys infront of me. She even denied our relationship to other people. I don't know why she is treating me like this. It just started when i was really busy at works."

"I'm sorry to hear that bro!" Edward said. " How about you Phevy?"

"I'm engaged and our wedding will be next month but I guess the wedding won't happen anymore." Phevy lowered her voice in sadness.

"Don't lose hope Phevy, someone might rescue us here. Can you tell us more about your fiance if it's ok?" Vincent asked.

"Well he is Noah Wheeler..."

"The famous Noah Wheeler?? The chef? Your fiance? Really? Oh my gosh!" Edward exclaimed in disbelief.

"Yes Eddy haha!"

"Ok please continue"

"I met him at school when I was still in highschool. They said we are highschool sweethearts but for me, we weren't. I became his girlfriend... I mean we became official when I was in college. He's a busy man and sometimes someone needs to remind him to take a break and take care of himself. A few months ago he proposed to me and I said yes." She said recalling the good old memories of her and Noah.

"So why didn't he accompany you to Hawaii? Is he not invited in your sister's wedding?" Edward asked.

"No he is invited but he's busy at our diner that's why I travelled with my friends instead."

After a few minutes Jadi excused himself because he's sleepy. Then Vincent told the whole thing why Jadi can't remember them.

"Actually guys I know you all need to know this especially you, Phevy. The reason why Jadi can't remember is because of an accident that happened years ago. He accidentally fell down on the stairs and his head was bleeding inside. (Internal bleeding)

*Internal bleeding-Internal bleeding (also called internal hemorrhage) is a loss of blood from a blood vessel that collects inside the body. Internal bleeding is usually not visible from the outside and it could be dangerous since it can't be seen outside.*

He was rushed in the hospital and his heart even stopped for a minute. It made me and his parents scared but fortunately he was relieved. When he woke up he couldn't remember me including his parents but minutes later he recovered a little of his memory. The doctor said he had mini amnesia that's why he can only remember a few memories." Vincent explained.

"I hope he could regain all his memories back" Phevy sighed.

"I hope so. But I know he will Phevy, one day he will" Vincent assured Phevy.

Everyone said good night and slept. Before sleeping, Edward went out or the cave to check their safety. There was no one except angry waves and strong wind.

*I guess a storms coming* he thought to himself.

He went back knowing that they will be safe for this night and slept with the others as well.

The sun was still setting up when Phevy went to the seashore to get her suitcase. While going back to the cave, she heard a scream!
