Asteria, DJ and I made our way to the cell house to meet mom and Regina. I had hope that this would work out, but the look on my sister's face told me that she was still on the fence.
Ultimately, it was her decision on what happened from now on, but I also know she is a fair and logical person.
"I thought you guys got lost," mom joked. I shook my head and smiled. Even in the worst times, mom kind find humor.
"Hey, Regina!" Asteria exclaimed as she nearly jumped into our cousin's arms. "Listen, you know I love you like a sister, but I can't promise anything here. I hope you understand that. It's going to depend on what he says and what mom sees. I want you to be happy, and as long as he is no longer a threat, I will make that happen. I promise," Asteria explained to her.
