After encouraging River to speak to Caleb about what he meant by saying he didn't want any more kids, I stood up and left the dining hall. I wanted to see my boys and just relax for a while.
Unfortunately, when I got to their room, they were all fast asleep. Their new nanny, Helen, was sitting on the sofa, also fast asleep. It looked as if she was reading a book, and I had to smile. Helen was an older woman, but she was so good with my boys. I was thankful she had been referred to me.
Instead of going back to my room, I plopped down on the floor and started to go through the documents I had gotten from Rebecca. I was determined to figure this out for her.
