I kept thinking about what I heard. Fatal accident. The words kept playing in my head over.
The nurses voice was away. "Hello? Mrs. Edna? Are you still there?" she asked.
My mouth opened,. I did not say anything at first.
Then I said "I... I'm coming." My voice was really quiet.
I do not remember hanging up the phone. I just sat there for a seconds. I was frozen. I stared at nothing. My mind would not think about what I heard.
Fatal accident. No. That is not right. My dad is fine. He is always careful.
Then I heard Stella's voice. "Ma'am?" she said. She brought me back to reality.
I turned to her slowly. She looked worried when she saw my face.
"What happened?" she asked. She sounded concerned.
I stood up fast. I grabbed my bag with hands.
"My dad... He is in the hospital."
