“Is that a threat?” I asked, staring at him with the same cold intensity in my eyes.
McDonald chuckled, “Of course not. As an elder, I won’t stoop so low. It is just a reminder, a reminder to know what you are dealing with and for you to know what is good for you.”
For a brief second, neither of us spoke.
After a while, McDonald broke the silence.
“I have to remind Mrs. Edna to think of your next move very well. Afterall, I know a lot of people that surround you. Be it, Miss Lucia, a good friend of yours who you just got back together with or Mae, another good friend who isn’t in town. Or is it your father, whom I’m quite familiar with. This is not a threat, I’m just reminding you how much I know and what I can do.”
