“Is something wrong?” I asked, glancing at Malrick.
I noticed that he had been staring at a particular spot in the garage, but when I turned to look, there was nothing there.
Could he have seen someone he knew?

As the car drove away, he asked, “Any news about what Colin has been up to these days?”
Surprised, I gave him a look.
Normally, Malrick never asks for updates when it comes to Colin. For other matters, he would not hesitate to ask, but when it is about Colin, he has never asked about it.
So I was somewhat surprised that he was bringing his matter up all of a sudden.
