Author’s POV The hospital room was quiet save for the continuous beep from the heart monitor machine. The pungent smell of disinfectant lingered in the air, and the gloomy atmosphere added a hint of eeriness to the room. Colin stood by the bedside, his expression completely emotionless as he just stared at the unconscious Stacy on the bed. In just a few hours, Stacy seemed as though she had lost pounds. But it was mainly because the foundation she had always disguised herself with was now gone. In its place was a pale, sick face. Colin didn't seem to notice any of these things.
