Kalliste couldn't think. Her heart was pounding with fear and anxiety. She gulped. Even though Kenric shoots a quick text, Kalliste can feel Kenric's anger. Her body felt hot; the cold temperature of the car could not cool her down.
Kalliste looked out the window. She hasn't answered Kenric's message yet. She didn't know what reason to give. She didn't tell Kenric because she intended to inform Kenric once she discovered what Viltarin was doing in the vacant land and didn't expect Kenric would come.
'Irena, I want to tell you a story. I don't mind if you don't want to answer. You must know how I feel now. I'm afraid Kenric will be angry with me and reject me. I should have told him.' Kalliste clenched her fingers in annoyance. Regret always comes last. Her mind was deadlocked, making her unable to think correctly.
Kalliste's wolf exhaled deeply. She refused to comment. She let Kalliste get a headache thinking about Kenric's rage, but she couldn't hide her annoyance. She wished she could beg the Moon Goddess to remove Kenric's name and face from Kalliste's mind.
'I don't want him to reject me. I've only been working at Alpha Viltarin's house for one week. I haven't shown all my abilities, but now he is furious. What if he doesn't trust me anymore?' Kalliste bit her bottom lip. She panicked.
Viltarin glanced at Kalliste. He noticed Kalliste, who was moving around a lot; she looked uneasy. What is Kalliste thinking? A few minutes ago, Kalliste was sitting uncomfortably, now sitting uneasily. Doesn't Kalliste want to sit next to him?
Kalliste's behavior made Viltarin feel a little guilty. However, he needed Kalliste to make him some food. He really couldn't eat food in restaurants or other delicatessens. He looked at his watch. In about an hour, they will arrive at their destination. He hoped that Kalliste could hold back a little longer.
Meanwhile, Kalliste replied to Kenric's message. Her hands shook as she typed the message. She hoped Kenric would forgive her. She was really afraid that Kenric would come to the Saphire Pack to reject her. No, it looks like that can't be the case; if Kenric rejects her and Viltarin finds out about it, Kalliste's purpose for working at Viltarin's house will be revealed. Kenric couldn't do anything reckless.
'Alpha Kenric won't reject us. I believe he will keep his word.' Kalliste spoke to her wolf, who did not respond. Kalliste stared at her phone's dead screen. She waited for a reply from Kenric. She hoped that Kenric would answer her so she could erase the anxiety and panic that was tormenting her.
Irene just nodded her head. It was risky if Kenric came to reject them. She imagined Viltarin's reaction. Kalliste is Kenric's mate and secretly works as a spy for Kenric. What will Viltarin do to Kalliste? Goddamit. Why was she just thinking about it? But Irena was lazy to discuss it with Kalliste, who still couldn't forget Kenric.
"Do you want?" Viltarin offers chocolate to Kalliste. He believes almost all women like chocolate. He doesn't like sweets. He got the chocolate from Naomi, Osias' sister. He did not know why Naomi gave him chocolate.
Kalliste, who was anxiously waiting for a reply to Kenric's message, was surprised to hear Viltarin's voice reach her ears. Kalliste stared at the rectangular box filled with dozens of chocolates. Then she looked at Viltarin, whose face didn't show any emotion. With slightly shaking hands, she took two packs. "Thank you, Alpha." Kalliste ate the chocolate, and she slowly relaxed. She can divert her mind a bit.
"For you." Viltarin gave the box filled with chocolates to Kalliste. "I got it from Naomi. I don't like sweets."
Kalliste received the box with a broad smile on her lips. "Thank you very much, Alpha." She rarely eats chocolate because nobody sells chocolate in packs. If they want to eat chocolate, they must buy it from another clan. The clan that produces various types of chocolate is the fox demon clan.
Osias tilted his head towards the window, and his hand covered his smiling mouth. Naomi must have given the chocolate to Alpha on purpose. Of course, Naomi knew Alpha didn't like sweets; Naomi gave the chocolate box, so Alpha gave it to Kalliste. His little sister is cunning and clever. But Alpha didn't know what Naomi meant.

"Are we going to the fox demon clan?" Kalliste was surprised. They are currently in port. To go to the fox demon clan, they had to get on a ship. This harbor is the territory of the mermaid clan.
"Yes. I'm going to meet king Griffin." Vitarin replied curtly.
"We are currently negotiating with king Griffin. Hope the negotiations go smoothly this time." Osias explained. Osias raised his eyebrows when Viltarin glanced at him sarcastically. Alpha doesn't seem to agree with him telling Kalliste, but Kalliste is Luna. Shouldn't Luna know everything?
Kalliste nodded her head. It was her first time going to another clan. During this time, she was always in the Topaz Pack. She frowned; for the time being, he was living in the Sapphire Pack, and it seemed she would be going to a lot of places since Viltarin needed her as his personal chef.
"Is this your first time to the harbor, Luna?" Osias asked Kalliste, who was standing between him and Alpha. They only brought one warrior.
"Yes. And it's my first time going to another clan." Kalliste smiled happily. She enthusiastically looked around her. It seems that all the creatures in this world are here. She saw elves, dwarves, witches, vampires and so on.
Viltarin secretly watched Kalliste's face like a child who got a new toy. He was bored and tired of going places, whereas Kalliste never went anywhere.
"You should come with us a lot. In one month we can go to five different places. But don't expect us to go to another pack. As you know, werewolf clans don't get along. We are on good terms with the Obsidian Pack, but Alpha doesn't want to trust Alpha Eugene too much." Osias told a little about the Sapphire Pack. He saw Alpha, who was playing on his cellphone, Alpha didn't protest and let it be.
Kalliste kept all of Osias' words in her head. She was thinking, which information should she give Kenric? She glanced at Osias, who was smoothing his hair which was messy from the wind. Would she get much information from Osias?
"To be honest, I'm sad that the werewolf clans don't get along. I hope one day we can all live together without fighting." After speaking, Kalliste widened her eyes. What did she just say? She bit her bottom lip. She didn't want to see the reaction on Viltarin's and Osias' faces. Don't forget the fact about the hostile and often belligerent Sapphire Pack and Topaz Pack!
Osias was surprised to hear Kalliste's words wishing peace for the werewolf clan. He looked at Alpha, who was also shocked and made no comment. What is Alpha thinking? Alpha and Luna have different thoughts.
Viltarin tilted his lips. Kalliste was expecting something strange and seemed unlikely to happen. He remembered Alpha Gideon, who always made speeches about peace and advised him and Kenric to make peace. He didn't imagine that he and Kenric would reconcile, and they became friends.
"A beautiful hope, Luna. Many people want peace," said Osias. He avoided Alpha's gaze.
Viltarin rolled his eyes. Osias is so hilarious.
Kalliste turned to Osias. Does Beta Osias dislike war too? Maybe Alpha and Beta have different opinions about war and peace.
They were already on the ship. Kalliste smiled very broadly, seeing her spacious room. She laid her body on the bed. Soft and comfortable. But sadly, they were only six hours on board. So she can't sleep; she doesn't want to bother Alpha and Beta. Her room is located next to the Alpha and Beta rooms. Alpha and Beta booked a room for the both of them since they were only on the ship for a short time.
Kalliste looked up at the ceiling. It's been fun working as Viltarin's personal chef. She would go with them to places. She recalled Kenric; had she seen Kenric going to other clans on business? Does not seem. Kenric always goes with warriors to other clans, Kenric and his wolf are very happy at war.
Kalliste reached into her trouser pocket for her cell phone. She checked the messages from Kenric. No answer. Anxiety and worry returned to attack her. She didn't want Kenric to be mad at her.
"Did I tell him about this?" Kalliste's brows knit together. Maybe Kenric would forgive her if she reported about them being on the ship to the fox demon clan.
'You will regret it, Kalli.' Irena warned Kalliste. However, their initial goal of working at Viltarin's house was to spy for Kenric.
'I did my job, Irena.' Kalliste had reported to Kenric. Hopefully, Kenric will forgive her.
'But you don't get a salary.'
'I didn't expect that. I did it to prove that Alpha didn't do it.' Kalliste closed her eyes, her heart pounding, waiting for Kenric's answer.
Irene sighed. Something went wrong in Kalliste's brain.
In another place. Viltarin and Osias are arguing over Kenric. They were guessing where Kenric had gotten the information about them coming to the wastelands.
"I believe Alpha Kenric has a spy in the pack, Alpha. The distance between the Topaz Pack and the clearing is vast. If Alpha Kenric gets any information from his warriors guarding the vacant clan, Alpha Kenric should be there two hours after us." Osias played with an empty tin bottle.
"That's right. He's been like this twice already." Viltarin remembers everyone he knows, and he will search for those who deserve his suspicions.
"Last month and now," Osias muttered.
"We must find out and analyze the guys who have only been in the pack for two months, but Kenric couldn't possibly do anything reckless." Viltarin took a sip of his alcohol.
"That's right. Alpha Kenric's mind isn't easy to read. He and Beta Nicollo's relationship isn't very good, but Beta Nicollo is loyal to his pack. I can't be secretly friends with him." Osias shook his head.
"There are numerous possibilities for this trouble. Perhaps Alpha Kenric didn't have his spies in this pack but somewhere else. But today, no one knows we're going to the vacant land. The only ones who know are me, you, Kalliste, and a warrior."
"Johan couldn't have done that. He has been working as your personal driver for a long time," said Osias. Alpha never remembers Johan's name. "Kaliste."
Viltarin opened a new can of soda. "Are you accusing Kalliste?"
"No, Alpha." Osias shook his head. "She's only been on the job a week, but she's from the Topaz Pack."
Viltarin propped up his chin. "I told her thirty minutes before we left. We take less than two hours to the clearing."
"Alpha, I'm not accusing Luna." Osias shook his head.
"Okay. Let's forget about this for a moment." Viltarin gave up.
