16. Holding Anger

1638 Words
Leaders must not reveal they are true feelings, especially to other leaders or business partners, because they will pay attention to the other person's facial expressions and attitudes. Last night, Viltarin got drunk to vent his frustration and anger at King Griffin, who had yet to accept his invitation to cooperate. Viltarin would not show his resentment to King Griffin, who sat across from him. He was eating breakfast. Kalliste's cooking improves every day, which helps to alleviate his rage. Several times, Osias secretly glanced at Alpha, who was sitting next to him. Alpha can indeed keep his facial expression from looking angry, but Alpha doesn't speak first. Alpha will let out his voice if king Griffin speaks or asks him. King Griffin must have known Alpha was upset with him. After they finished eating, they moved to the glass garden, which was king Griffin's favorite garden. Unlike the other glass gardens, which are filled with flowers, King Griffin's glass garden is planted with trees and dozens of birds in cages. The park is noisy because of the sound of birds chirping. For Viltarin, who disliked noise, he would never want to come to this garden again. "This tea is excellent. I hope you enjoy it." King Griffin poured tea into cups for Viltarin, Osias and Kalliste. Kalliste stood next to Viltarin like a bodyguard, who she had a double job. They drank the fox demon clan's special tea. The tea has a fragrant and warm aroma in the throat. Fox demons are famous for producing high-quality alcoholic drinks; in fact, they produce alcohol that is very intoxicating and only sold to certain people. However, every time a guest came to the palace, King Griffin never gave them alcoholic drinks. "I enjoyed it. Thank you for the tea, Your Majesty," said Osias sincerely. Viltarin and Kalliste nodded to show that they agreed with Osias's words. King Griffin smiled happily. He stared at the various kinds of birds that were his pets. "I prefer the sound of birds singing to the noise of other creatures, especially the sound of them screaming in fear or calling for help when they are caught in a war." Viltarin glanced at one of the bird cages that were nearby. He had a bad feeling. King Griffin talks about war. King Griffin is insinuating his pack, who was at war with the Topaz Pack every month. It seemed he knew the meaning of the Griffin king's words. It's better if he doesn't respond. "I am over a thousand years old. I have passed through various civilizations and have seen war many times. It is rare for clan wars or wars between different clans to occur, unlike hundreds of years ago. In the past, I always wanted peace." Griffin stirred his tea. Kalliste glanced at Viltarin, whose face turned cold, in contrast to Osias, who nodded in response to king Griffin's words. He grew increasingly suspicious that Alpha and Beta had different opinions about the war. Although Alpha Kenric and Beta Nicollo's relationship is not close, they love war. It turns out that not all Alpha and Beta have a close relationship and have the same thoughts. "Do you still remember that hundreds of years ago, there were humans in this world?" Griffin looked at his three guests; only Viltarin did not nod his head. "Humans perished because of their jealousy and greed. They changed themselves with the help of witches, or they married beings from other clans so that their children would not be pure humans. If they didn't have jealousy and greed, humans would still exist in this world." "That's right, Your Majesty," Osias answered after taking a sip of his drink. "Like the werewolf clan. Thousands of years ago, the werewolf clan was led by an Alpha. Due to a dispute that occurred, they split apart, and now there are only seven packs left." Griffin studied Viltarin, who lowered his head. He was sure Viltarin was holding back his anger. "War is never profitable, always brings losses. In my old age, I just wanted to live in peace. I have always maintained good relations with clans that are near our territory." Vitarin was too lazy to hear it. If King Griffin refused his offer to cooperate with him, it would be better for King Griffin to say it straight out and talk about his age and the war. "Everyone expects it, Your Majesty," Osias answered. He ignored Alpha, who gave him a death stare. He replied in appreciation of king Griffin. I hope we can all make that dream come true." Griffin has always wished for peace. He studied Viltarin's irritated face, and he didn't reply. As if Viltarin wished he would stop talking about peace. He had only met Viltarin twice; he was surprised when Alpha Viltarin came to offer cooperation. He never imagined it. Will it be Alpha Kenric who will come to his palace one day? "I'm sorry if what I said made you uncomfortable. I just wanted to express my feelings." Griffin lowered his head. "My pack is only at war with the Topaz Pack. We are at war for obvious reasons. Our war does not harm other packs or clans." Viltarin said in an irritated tone. Why is King Griffin like Alpha Gideon? He was too lazy to listen to those who advised her to make peace with Kenric. Never will happen. Osias smiled stiffly at Griffin, who was dumbfounded at Viltarin's words. Kalliste got goosebumps. If he is angry, Alpha is very scary. Viltarin stood up and straightened his coat. "If you don't want to work with us, we will accept it. Thank you for welcoming us so well and giving us your best service." Viltarin decides to drop the fox demon clan from the list of clans he should make business partners with. Osias and Kalliste ran after Viltarin, who was walking quick, like the wind. Griffin's jaw dropped. He didn't expect Alpha Viltarin to say that to him. Does that mean Alpha Viltarin is giving up? *** Kalliste felt uncomfortable. She glanced at Viltarin, who had not spoken the whole way. Alpha rarely spoke, but an aura of anger was surfacing from Alpha's body now. She got goosebumps. Last night Alpha got drunk to get rid of her annoyance, and this morning Alpha got angry again because of King Griffin's words. Even Beta doesn't say anything or engage Alpha in conversation. Kalliste looked out the window. Her eyes widened when she saw the harbor. They pass through the harbor. Aren't they going home? Kalliste turned to Viltarin, who was leaning his back and closed his eyes. Then she looked ahead; Beta was playing on the cell phone. Her eyes accidentally met those of the warrior driving in the rearview mirror. Kalliste broke eye contact. It's better if she doesn't ask. The atmosphere is not conducive. Later, Beta will definitely tell her. Viltarin tried to quell his anger. He had lost the fox demon clan as a potential business partner. One door closed, and he was sure another door was waiting for him. There were still many other clans he could work with. If it weren't for increasing the pack's income, he wouldn't be doing this. He lower himself to others. Osias apologized to King Griffin via text message. He forgot to apologize because he saw Alpha angry and hurriedly left. He hoped Alpha wasn't mad at him for responding to King Griffin's words. The car stopped in front of a boutique. Osias looked back; Alpha was closing his eyes. With fear and in a low voice, he called Alpha. "Alpha. We've arrived in front of the boutique." Viltarin opened his eyes. He wasn't sleeping; he was just calming himself down. "You wait here." Osias and Johan, the warrior who became Viltarin's personal driver, nodded. Viltarin turned to Kalliste, whose face looked confused. "Come with me. You need new clothes." Viltarin got out of the car and waited for Kaliste. Kalliste's jaw dropped. Did she hear wrong? Alpha took her to buy new clothes. Oh, my gosh! Where are they going to go? "Luna, Alpha is waiting outside." Osias brought the astonished Kalliste to his senses. "Yeah, I'm going out." Kalliste rushed towards Viltarin. She was afraid that Viltarin would be angry with him. They entered a boutique that was still in the fox demon clan's territory. The boutique is well-known in the clan, and Viltarin knows the boutique owner quite well. "Is it true that you are Alpha Viltarin?" A man wearing sunglasses greeted them. "Yeah, you're right, Kenno." Kenno's four tails moved right and left. "I almost forgot about you because the last time we met was around 10 years ago." "Yes." Viltarin nodded his head, and he looked around the boutique. "You're famous now, and your dress collection is beautiful." "Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad you came to my boutique." Kenno patted Viltarin's arm. Then he realized the presence of Kalliste standing next to Viltarin. "Oh my. Who is this beautiful woman?" Kenno cupped Kalliste's cheek. He studied Kalliste's face closely. "Beautiful gray eyes, smooth skin, and straight, sparkling amber hair. Would you like to be my model?" Kalliste glared. Her face had never been this close to another person's, especially a man's. She's uncomfortable. "Kenno, she came with me. She is my personal chef. I want you to give her the best dress you have." Viltarin put his hand on Kalliste's waist, and he pulled Kalliste towards him, slightly away from Kenno. Kenno processed Viltarin's words, and after understanding them he smiled happily. "Of course, I will give her the best dress." Kenno winked at Kalliste. Kalliste made eye contact with Viltarin. The look in her eyes indicated that she was demanding Viltarin's answer. Why did she buy a dress?
