Eyes

929 Words
Run That was all she could think. The black wolf watched as she turned her paw. and as he took one step into the river, she bolted and the wolf, not too far behind. She sprinted as fast as she could. Nothing was working and whatever she did, the other wolf was faster and knew exactly what they where doing. She was a fast wolf and charged until another wolf smashed into her and knocked her on her side. She started to wimpier,  eyes feeling the slightest prick of tears. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The black wolf looked around the area. At all the wolfs who where playing around and relaxing, enjoying their time. He wished he had friends or even a mate like that. But some alone time here and there wasn't too bad of a thing. Especially due to his position, majority of wolfs would look at him and want to be around him.  He was surprised more people weren't looking at him, for starters he was the only black wolf that could be seen, and he was on top of a hill that had a slight incline to the river below.  His eyes scanned all the wolves around the river, but stopped when he saw a white patch of fur. Looking down he noticed a white wolf laying by the side of the river. He kept looking at her and watched as she lifted her head and looked straight into his eyes. He kept watching her and noticed how she looked around. He took a step over the edge of the hill and noticed her slowly start to move.  And it kept that way as he made his way down. But once his first paw hit the edge of the river and the water, she started to sprint away. For some reason he felt like he needed to chase after her, so he did.  Running over logs and dodging through trees, she was fast and slick, and for some reason he liked the chase. It was different compared to other female wolves who just fall into his lap, sometimes literally. He enjoyed the different kind of action. He kept on getting closer, but she had a fast pace and kept getting further. She jumped over a fallen tree and just as he was about to do the same, A brown wolf came and rammed her on the side. She landed kinda funny and started to whimper and whine.  On the inside, he felt his heart break. He couldn't explain why, but he slowed to a stop and ducked down behind the bushes on one side of the tree. Looking over, he noticed the brown wolf place its muzzle against her neck, then run off.  Once he was sure they where gone, he heard more whimpering and whining. Against his better judgement, he walked over and looked at the wolf that lay before him. Walking along her back, he placed his muzzle against the back of her neck and felt her fur.  It was one of the most softest things he had ever felt. He pressed a bit more into it but heard her sigh, and remembered that she was severely injured. He got up and looked around her, and finding no blood he felt satisfied that she was fine. Or at least from what he could see.  He started to press his paw at different points all throughout her body and so far nothing hurt until he hit her front right paw. Then her whimpering and whining got worse.  He knelt down and started to clean her wound, even if it wasn't bleeding. It made him feel better about himself and feel better at the whole situation. He looked up for a quick sec to see her looking at him. Although her fur was white, he could still see a gentle tear flow down her face and muzzle. He went up to her and licked where the tear had gone. Man was she glad that they where in wolf form, or her cheeks would be bright red. When he pulled away, she found his eyes right away. Bright green eyes, vibrant in all sense of the word and she loved it.  His muzzle leaned in a bit, but stopped when they heard a growl. Looking off the the right, they saw the brown wolf growling at them both.  She started to pull away and he stood over her to protect her. The brown wolf looked directly at her, and she knew exactly who it was, even without seeing their true form.  Although her paw was hurt, she slid from underneath the black wolf and started to run. The brown wolf pushed bast him and started to chase after her.  He started to bark and howl after she ran off.  With her paw hurting like crazy and tears dripping down her face and muzzle she ran as fast as she could, until she collapsed of exhaustion and pain. She took deep breaths and looked up. The last person she though would be out here chasing her and standing over her, her Step-mother.  Angela stood over her, fully shifted and in some form of clothing she probably had lying around.  "Your lucky your father promised me something in order to bring you home," She said. Walking over, she grabbed Katie's ear and practically dragged her to the house.  She feared the worse when it came to her father asking about her paw/hand. She especially feared the excuse that she would need to tell in order not to implicate his new wife.
